7-10 is scared of me!!
« on: February 16, 2013, 07:40:28 AM »
Back in December i converted the 7-10ball split, and proceded to not leave it again until last monday, where i nearly converted again.  I got the7 to fly above the deck but still in the pit at the right wall.

My theory on the split is throw at the pin on the outside of the pair (away from the return) hit the inside edge of the pin with enough force, you may get a bounce off the waal, then hit the ball to get air and direction.

Anyone else convert have a different theory?

I covered it last year in league.  I drilled it right off the back curtain.  It bounced off the top of the ball and helicoptered across to annihilate the 7.  It was just a perfect bounce off the curtain and ball.  I was elated!  Crappy part was it was in the 5th and i sheeted the rest of the game and had the front 4!

I am a righty, and have converted it a few times. I have pretty high speed at my corners, i have had a few 10 pins come all the way up the lane to the foul line, so i fire it at the ten and try to hit it square, alot of the time i will get the pin to shoot out of the back, back on to the pin deck.

I try the opposite (just made one a few weeks back in my league). I shot for the pin closest to the return because it seems the angle of the pit favors a bounce back onto the lane that way; although when I made it the ball hit the 7 straight back then hit the 7 again and shot it straight into the 10.

I have converted it 3 times and every time it was hitting the inside half of the pin and having it bounce back across.  Last time I did it, it was with a 10 pound house ball (yes my hand is that small...LOL!)
