Need input
« on: February 16, 2013, 04:46:14 PM »
Ever since I switched from right handed to being a lefty, I have had issues with fast feet and timing that is off. Right now I'm going through a particularly bad stretch. Anyone have an answer for curing fast feet?

What worked for me was starting closer to the foul line. Forces you to take smaller, slower steps.

I've given that a try. Feels strange moving up, but I have to try something to break this problem. If anyone else has a suggestion, I open to it!

I'm returning after 3 months off and I find myself taking large beginning steps and throwing my timing way off. My solution is to concentrate on taking small first steps (1st step of a 4 step approach, small 1st and 2nd steps of a 5 step approach). The smaller the steps the slower you must go. The last 3 steps should be of normal speed and length. But you have to almost force tiny first steps to insure you go slow enough at the start. Once you force your muscles to do what you want and they learn it, you can allow them to do it.

I tell people this and they say that's vary helpful.
Don't crush the egg when you take that first step.
Honestly that mind sense will slow down your whole approach,
sounds stupid but it works.
Always keep it simple!
