Would you do this for a free columbia freeze?
« on: April 19, 2010, 10:17:12 AM »
We have a scratch singles  summer league coming up where its $15 / week, ( 4 games ) ..  Heres the deal They give you a brand new freeze drilled up, and in that league the freeze is the ONLY ball anyone is allowed to roll, ( no other strike or spare balls )  So far there are 50 ppl in and theres still another month before it starts .. heres the flier.. Sounds like it could be a fun little change

don't  get  fooled by  the  pearl  cover.  this  ball  can  handle  some  oil.

since  I  got  mine  it  is  a  toss  up  as  to  what  ball  to  throw  first  my  VE  or  the  freeze.
I  take  both  down  for  shadow  balls.

with  2  different houses  (one  a  3person  the  other  a  5  man  teams)  off  the  top  of  my  head  I  would  say  I'm  averaging  around  210  to  230  with  mine.

the  3  person  league  has  guys  throwing  VG's  and  invasions  to  give  ya  an  idea  of  oil  volume.  the  other  house  its  just  a  matter  of  a  few  more  mph  (17  -  19).

I have mine drilled with the pin over the ring with the CG in the grip center.  This ball is much stronger than I expected when it encounters friction down the lane.  I knocked the shine off with a white Scotchbrite pad and lots of water on the spinner at home.  It is still pretty flippy on the backend, so I may take it to 4000 Abralon to tame it down some.

I think the Freeze will make a nice step down from the Diamondback.

Any ideas on how to drill this weak, so I dont end up drilling a polished version of my DB?

I have no idea how to drill it actually, so anything that would make it compliment my Diamondback would be great

Nothing wrong with the league trying to add to the fun.  We need more bowlers!
The Freeze is a great ball.
Will they allow you to have different Freezes with different drillings?  Would that be cheating??
