Here is the ebay question and the sellers answer. It doesn't appear to be anything special about it. You can't bowl with it. It's just an ugly sphere. If anyone buys it, they're on crack.

A:   To: kenfeld123 Q: may i ask why this ball is so expensive? what is so special about it? Well, can you find a lower priced one ANYWHERE? Probably not so it makes this ball fairly RARE. Also I really don't want to sell it but people keep asking for a price if I were to sell it so here it is with a FIRM price OF $5,000.00 which will increase as time goes by if it doesn't sell. I do get a smile when I look at the ball but no longer get any feeling when I look at $100 bills. Call me weird!

Seller would stand a better chance selling a 14-15 lb. ball if it was not listed in the 6-11 lb. section.

Seller would stand an even better chance of selling said ball if he were not on crack.

If said seller was not on crack, he would get more excited over $100 bills.

No I wouldn't.  Unless I "knew" it would double in value w/in reasonable time frame, obviously, but just to have as a momento, not.

I just don't get why he continues to pay the fees to have it up on EBay with such a ridiculous price.  He's obviously never going to sell it.  I guess we can also blame this on crack :-P

It's funny that in the cases of the bowling ball and pool cue, people kept "asking" him for a sale price.

I have a single drill, 14lb, Green Mikasa in my basement that I picked up last spring in a yard sale.  Wonder if I can get $2500 for it??  Any offers??

I think Mikasa is a high end company that makes crystal items (like vases and crap).  Much like Waterford Crystal. I know I wouldn't pay for it but there is always someone out there that will...and that is why you price it that high.
