Petersen Classic...
« on: June 22, 2008, 04:15:30 PM »
Just returne from the Pete...bowled with chitown (Frank).

I can say WE BOTH BROKE 100 EVERY GAME!

It was fun.

It's not really bowling...it's learning to hit the head pin.

High in the squad was 1380-something?
Just brutal.

It is definitely an experience.  I've bowled 4 of them and look forward to July 17th and #5.  It is an accomplishment to break 100 every game

Thong P,

My first was in 1967 or 68

It makes you realize, that without the laneman, you are nothing.

Sean Rash shot 1530....chitown would love to have seen what line he used.

I had a double and turkey in the last game...Shot 150.

Cost $105...plus gas.

Was worth 3 times the money.

People actually travel from out-of-state to  bowl the Pete?

Great memories.

I'm almost scared to ask -- 1380-something for how many games?

Only if they are crazy enough and I am.  I went my 1st time because there had been a lot of talk on here about it and I had to try it "just once."  The 2nd year, I think, I combined it with a trip to the Hoinke.  Now it is one of my summer trips I look forward to along with The Gathering.

As long as I can afford the trip, I plan on continuing to bowl it.  It efinitely provides memories and stories to share.

This will be my 6th "Pete", and I live in Maryland. I would love to break 1500 one year, but at least I can say I've never shot below 100. It's a trip bowling in that one.
