As usual, we're impressed with another Mrtourdelane post.    Let the man feel good about his accomplishment!

Let's all just remember that pre- or post-bowling scores don't count only if bowling unopposed.

quote:
The flexibility of USBC Playing Rules allows members to bowl their league sessions before or after their scheduled league times as individuals or teams, commonly referred to as "pre-bowling" or "post-bowling."

USBC will continue to recognize several accomplishments performed in unopposed pre- or post-bowling sessions with its line of "Special Achievement" awards, including game and series honors not in the High Score category. High Score awards will still be issued to teams that pre- or post-bowl their head-to-head matches.

My league won't allow individual pre- or post-bowling.  I don't think it's an individual league rule, I think that comes from the local association.

Acutally, it can be a league rule.  Unless the league allows individual pre-bowling (for an adult league), it is prohibited. Here's the current USBC rule:
quote:

Types of Prebowl – Postponements
Rule 111b. Types of prebowl and postponements: [CAQ #99]
1. Bowling in direct opposition.
2. Team unopposed bowling — permitted, unless the league adopts a rule prohibiting this type of
competition.
3. Individual unopposed bowling:
a. Adult leagues, prohibited, unless the league rules state otherwise. [CAQ #119]
b. Youth Leagues, permitted, unless the league rules state otherwise. [CAQ #183]
