I just love watching it! I'm not that good at it. Very often I find that I do just as well on flatter patterns...wetter patterns Out of bounds patterns...sometimes a lot better than I do on typical league patterns.
I don't believe this makes me a better bowler! My preference high scoring on league wet/drys.
Last night in league finals I got some coaching(not the tiem I really wanted it) but I found it interesting and informative.
(NOTE at this time I was playing straight up 6 with a weak ball with no belly to the shot). The fellow watching noted...'Your triangle is very narrow".
Modern vs Older game(note pictures) Now I could believe this was because of the way I was playing so straight up the boards...but at the same time I'm a big fan of area bowling.
On our pair was a lefty who sort of is inaccurate but in a way does some things well. He was playing with a stronger ball and opening up the lane in a lefty sort of way playing 10 to 8 and 10 to 6 and 10 to 1111..........hey and 10 to 2... and striking pretty nicely.
He had a big game and this finished us off. Despite his inaccuracy he had nice speed revs and big carry and a ton of area! His tripod was much bigger than mine.
Bill Horvath has a book out ...Called something like..."Bowling secrets of the Pros" relating to this style of "Area" creating bowling. I love the concept...I love watching what you guys call league hacks tearing it up with this style of bowling. My goal...to develop it for my own game!

PS any thoughts on how to get more of "THIS" besides what is related to in the article?
