New Balls & New Oil & Lane Conditions
« on: July 06, 2007, 07:47:31 AM »
I just wanted to know if the different manufactories are developing balls for the new lane conditions the centers are coming up with. Every year its something different.. Couple of years back they stopped putting down that much oil on the lanes and the manufactories adjust there balls styles and this year I have noticed that at least @ my center we have no backend.  Now maybe my center sucks and I can really go with that if that is the case but I believe manufactures and lane people have something going on..

Do you think I am tripping?

Its a neverending cycle. Balls come out to combat more oil and create more friction. Houses put down more oil to combat wear and tear on the lane surface due to balls that generate more friction.

All it would take is a rule change, no more than 15 ml of oil on a lane and the sponge balls would be useless. Of course most house mouses would still throw them then crap on about the lanes being to dry rather than use the 'right' ball.

Thanks for the response because this year I am hearing more and more people say that same thing I am saying.. The balls don't seem to be finishing.. I understand carry down but when u first throw a couple of balls there should be come friction and consistency.  The breaking point keeps changing.. Going to need a ball that turns up early to ulimate this problems and just fight to keep it out..

it could be the ball your using is burning up in the front part of the lane and has no energy for the backend, try using a ball thats made for less oil, might fix the problem your seeing

Track Man...

Went through all my balls..

I have 2 FreakOuts - Dessert Heat - Nothing is working..

Normally for down and end show I go with Icon because I know the ball should turn but the balls aren't breaking like they should..

We have 2 problems..
We just received a new oil machine and we have to types of boards in this house.  The front board is different from the back.  It reminds me of a NABBI shot but the ball moves and you never know where and when its going to move..
