Am I wrong to say "high flush"?
« on: November 28, 2006, 07:20:38 AM »
someone came to me and said if its high its not flush then i got totally confused

whats your interpretation of these two words combined?

what i say about high flush is that the ball hits the pocket little bit high but all the pins are pushed back so nothing is much left around and in the gutter.

To me, high flush is heavy on the head pin but without a lot of angle.  Too much angle (where "too much" isn't all that much) and you leave 9-pins.  Sometimes 4-9s if the headpin doesn't bounce off the wall to take out the 4.

Walter Ray is awesome with that kind of look.  Watch the 2004 Uniroyal Tire Classic when he beats Hurd and Kent with back-to-back 268s and you'll see how he makes "high flush" work.
