C.A.T.S. vs. Bowlers MAP

These both interest me.  rabbit_sla posted a topic on CATS earlier.  

For those that have done both how do they compare?  Bowlers MAP is more readily available.  Does it do the job?  Looking for more info.  Thanks Jeremy for your input on CATS.

Bowlers' Map is video analysis program of the physical game. CATS measures how accurate and consistent you are in terms of what is going out on the lane.

www.bowlersmap.com should give you a few demos and screen shots of what to expect of Bowlers Map.

Yes, Jeremy saw that URL.  I guess the only thing it can't give you is two things...that I see off the bat.  Axis tilt and trajectory.  

Kegel may have installed CATS lanes in houses in my area and I will write them and see.  

I do have a silver coach in mind who I think can do a very good analysis of my game and help correct faults.  He is equipped with MAP.

I am actually planning on buying BowlersMap Silver for myself. I am getting USAB Bronze Certified (and hopefully Silver a year later) as soon as I can. I plan on using this first on myself and then working with other people eventually. It's just going to be a side job.

I like how BowlersMap (or any other kind of video analysis program) allows the student to see the flaws a bowler has in his/her swing the same way the coach does. This way, through the student seeing his flaws through the computer screen, and through the help of the drawing tools for the program, correcting glitches in your swing will come faster to you. This reduces the learning curve a little bit, which can be frustrating at times.

I was Bronze Certified Jeremy but let it lapse.  Was in the first USTBF class at Bowling Hdqrs. taught by Fred Borden and Geri Edwards.  I strongly urge you to go for it.  Make sure you get in a class taught by a very good instructor.  Some can leave a bit to be desired.

I just went through the CATS at the stadium on Saturday.
The CATS portion is a computer analysis of your speed, accuracy, angle of entry, etc.
Bowlers MAP was used to analyze the video portion of the analysis, and the subsequent lesson.
The two combined was fantastic!
After both analyses were done, Mike worked with me in a lesson. He then took new video, AND used the CATS system to check my ball speed. He put the before and after video side by side, and stepped through them side by side. Awesome tool!!!
