Timing
« on: April 20, 2007, 12:21:07 PM »
Alright fighting a little timing problem. I just kinda reared its ugly head. The problem is my timing is just a little early. I was working on getting a little more ball speed and think thats where it came from. I was wondering if any of you have had this problem hows did you fix it. I think I figured it out today, But never really had a timing problem so was just what to know if I am going in the right direction.

I don't understand, what exactly is your problem?  Your timing with what is off?

My timing at the foul line is early. The problem I think is I am getting my ball in to the swing to quick. I was just wondering if any on had some drill or something to help.

If your arm is ahead of you you need to get your feet there with it.  Everything has to be at the same speed; therefore, if your swing is faster, your feet better be too.  There isn't a drill that can help this.  Sorry, but the problem is you.

Thanks thats what I was thinking today at practice. Theres no need to be sorry sometime there no better way to say it. The biggest thing I noticed after looking at the video I shot was I was being lazy with the push away. Witch goes in line with what you said. I was just aver thinking the situation. Thanks

I just had this very issue, well I should say I have been averaging just under 200 with this very issue.....laziness at the pushaway and also starting what I considered to be a pushaway too early..... I took steps tonight while cosmic bowling with kids running around and stuff to try and take care of this.... 1st thing I noticed was when I did a CORRECT pushaway I had WAY more power at the pocket...... Not just a little either.... I also had better hold from the ball and better recovery if I missed right.. which I hit my ankle once and the ball came way back from the ditch to obliterate the pocket....If I would have done this before I was most definately shooting a washout or split depending on speed.....
I need to get this down so I will be walking around the house the next couple days setting up for an approach and pushing away.... Now I have to figure out how to get the 3-5 feet of loft outta my game.....
