HELP! - Repairing a Cracked Bridge!
« on: July 25, 2006, 08:56:21 AM »
Hi Everyone,

Ok here's the situation. What are the steps in repairing a ball with a cracked bridge? Maybe you guys can help me out step by step. I have an idea in my mind of what the Pro Shop guy might do.

Let me know if my troubleshooting or steps are off.

1. If the ball has grips, remove them.

2. Inspect the cracked bridge and see if the finger holes join at the bottom somehow creating a weakened bridge structure.

3. Center the drill bit on the bridge and slowly drill it out little by little until you notice the fracture is gone.

4. Proceed to plug the ball.

5. Cut the plug when it is dry and ready.

5. Redrill!

Am I missing any steps?

Thanks ball gurus!

In the proshop I work in, we remove the inserts, cut the bevel off the fingers then plugging it all up. Cut the plug off and finish it.
