2000 dollars of equipment for what?
« on: October 28, 2003, 01:50:34 AM »
i have spent so much money on top line bowling balls, countless dollars on pitching and repitching thumbs. I have estimated my spenditures out to about 2500 for just my league arsenal. But what is funny is i shot my highest set of the season so far with a Zebra IV i got off ebay for 25 bucks.

I haven't had the front 9 all season, first game i had the front 10 for 289, then a 234 and 239 for a 762 series, all with my Zebra IV plastic ball. I was subbing for a friend in a mixed league, and just decided for really no reason at all i was gunna throw all plastic tonight. Now i know plastic won't work at my regular houses, just too much oil, i've always struggled at this house i subbed at, i think i only carry about a 205 average there. Sometimes it makes me wonder how much this equipment is really worth when i do something like this.

anyone else have some good stories on shooting high games/series with old/spare/other cool balls/equipment when all else has failed?
