Example of how not to review.
« on: May 25, 2006, 06:53:08 PM »
Click here, and actually try to read all of this:
http://www.ballreviews.com/Reviews/Reviews.asp?BallID=707&ManufacterID=5&ReviewID=25401

Its so unbelievably long and boring.  Next time just break down the pros and cons.  That is a review no one will read because its like reading egyptian sancript.

And to all of you that are gonna reply and say, its the best post ever.  BITE ME!

Great point HB; I believe that beofre someone can crack on another's review, they should at least have a decent profile.

But even I know that was a very well written review.

Cranking Inferno is just another kid who believes in "stand left, throw right, ball either hits like a truck or leaves too many ten pins". If a good review is too much to handle, just go back to posting "this ball vs. that ball" until you find the magic orb.

That was an excellent review. To some, the oil unit breakdown may be over their head, but for the ones who understand it, gives them a better idea on how the ball will perform. Here are a couple of examples reviews that may suit you:

http://www.ballreviews.com/Reviews/Reviews.asp?BallID=686&ManufacterID=5&ReviewID=25409

http://www.ballreviews.com/Reviews/Reviews.asp?ManufacterID=18&BallID=679&ReviewID=25397

http://www.ballreviews.com/Reviews/Reviews.asp?ManufacterID=3&BallID=546&ReviewID=25386

I say the more info the better...unless it is a Ti Messenger Light Weight review...

I post the lane oil units for one reason, if you say wet lanes just what do you mean, wet for one is not wet to another. Using the oil breakdown helps others decide (providing they know what they bowl on)gives them an idea of the volume of oil the ball is used on. Our THS is oily than what most of you bowl on, therefore a ball thrown on your THS might be too much ball for you to get your moneys worth. Granted some may find the review boring or overkill, others will find it more helpful depending on their own knowledge of oil patterns and how to interpret them. JMO

VA,

Which one; the one I posted as an example, or the one that originated with the thread?  I surely hope that you are not saying that you want to be able to review like the one I previously post above.

Cranking_Inferno is absolutely correct, look guys, here is the right way of making a ball review, please observe:

Pros- the ball is very, very round and I like the color

Cons- the ball goes into the channel pretty easy
