and left a smash 8-10 split the first ball in the 10th... Wow when this screen name does hold up its name doesn't it!!!

I have gave up on gettin a 300, whenever i have the first 9/10, it never fails, 10 pin, 4 pin, whatever. when i do leave one, i just turn around, look at my dad and laugh. He gets the breaks and has a couple 3's and a couple 800's (lefthander) geeezzzz...
I guess one day hopefully this year im 17 and have been bowling for 4 years and i think its about time!

I don't mean to be rude, but many people (myself included) had to wait 20+ years before getting their first. I don't care if the lanes are easier, balls carry better, bowlers better educated, trained, and in better shape, etc.. Not every bowler will shoot 300. It is not a right. Hopefully you'll get one (or more) someday, but try to stay patient.

Strider: I couldn't agree more with your reply. I've been bowling for 29 years, shot many high series and have been over a 200 average for at least 14 years, but never shot a 300. 290 is my high game, and I've recorded too many 279 and 280 games to count on both hands. Patience has been my middle name when it comes to shooting that elusive 300 game, if it happens, great- if not I will live on...

I agree. I was 45 when I shot my first (and only, so far) 300 game. One day before my 47th birthday when I shot my first SANCTIONED 800 series.

Patience...

And - the year I did shoot 300, I had the front 8 about 10 times. Something always happened - split, stone 8, 7pin, etc... When I got the 9th one that night, I knew the others were gonna be easy.

However, last year, I had the front 9 about 5 or 6 times. Each time (and I mean EVERY TIME), I was stopped by a stone 7 pin. OUCH. (I'm right handed, in case anyone cares).

I know the next one will come. I just don't know when.
