Wanting a hook off my hand ball?
« on: September 11, 2009, 03:34:22 AM »
I have been out of bowling about 2 years.  Came back this summer and am now playing in a fall league.  I am a power stroker, throw about 17-18mph.  Play pretty much down and in.  When I go somewhere for a tourney and they put out a flood I can't wrinkle the ball.  I m looking for something that can get me through the flood.  Any thoughts?  Any brand

THanks in advance Burgerboy

You're a power stroker, but you can't wrinkle the ball?  Perhaps you're not a power stroker after all.  Sorry, just had to point that out.  Please don't shoot the messenger.

On heavy oil, at the nationals, there were mostly Virtual Gravitys thrown.
Must be a reason.

invest in a complete set of abralon pads------180, 360, 500, 1000, 2000, and 4000. learn how to scuff your own equipment on a moments notice.

the best ball for you i would say is the virtual but other big hooking balls are the bounty hunter(my opinion is the most agressive ball made) mega friction awesome hook seak & destroy or u can try the solaris requiem by the new company seismec or how ever its spelt every ball from that company has been great so far

Mega friction   (this would be a great choice)
Bounty hunter
Visionary AMB particle (strongest ball ever produced, basically to strong)
Ogre particle
Seismic Solaris requiem
Lanemasters Dynamic power (this would be a great choice)

Virtual gravity has to much length for a true oil ball.

It helps to know whether you are talking about heavier heads with some backend to work with or whether you are talking a longer flat pattern.  There ARE times where looking for hook is NOT the ideal approach to conditions...
