You would be a great bowler if ?

You would be a great bowler if ?

Have your ever had anyone walk up to you during;practice, league
or a tournament and say.In a backhanded way,you would be a great
bowler if you would only! "Insert tip that you did not ask for."

I was practicing about 14 years ago, after being out of bowling for 5 years
because of a torn tendon in my wrist. Now mind you, this injury
was so bad, that I still had only about 70% strength in my right hand
5 years after the injury. At this point I'm working on my timing
and my speed. Now only having 70 % strength in the wrist, it was
hard to roll the ball without have a flat wrist position at the bottom
of my swing. So this guy walks up and says that I would be a good
bowler if, I would only learn to put more "fingers and revs" on
the ball ,because the hitting power of such a weak release was
going to keep me from becoming a better bowler.
I told the guy as nicely as possible that I had not bowled in 5 years,
and I had a weak wrist, and was trying to just work on items
in my game as slow as possible ,without putting undo strain on my
wrist.Even after telling him this,he still tells me I need to learn
to increase my ball speed also.At this point I had enough, and just said
yes I know and said thanks.I then just walked away and went to the
pro shop ,and started working on my equipment for a while hoping he
would leave and I would not have to be rude. After about 10 minutes
of further practice the guy packed up and started to leave, but
before leaving he comes into the pro shop to give me tips on ball speed,
revs and timing. At this point I almost lost it,but I just listened,
smiled, and said thanks.I tried to be a nice person, but when is it
proper to tell someone that you know what you are doing and to just
say thanks then ignore them ?

 +1.  Agree with that...

Others mentioned turning the brain off.  That's a very common one.  I wrote this article specifically for that...and a friend
