Your bread and butter ball
« on: January 05, 2004, 05:54:26 AM »
What is it?  Ever have a good league night once again with a ball you use nearly every night and sit there and think, "Wow, if I didn't have this ball, what on earth would I be using?" or "If I didn't have this ball, there's no way I'd have just shot that tonight."  ???  Mine's a half dead Fuze Detonator with 600 plus games on it.  Nice and smooth, very predictable, the very definition of what a control ball should be and do.

"

Jeez - I like them all.
Conditions vary from week to week at my house, but I'd have to say the ball getting the most play the last couple of months would be the Monster Red/Black.

The one ball I refuse to leave home without is still the urethane Black Hammer. I don't usually lug it in for leagues, but it's always in the truck waiting "just in case". It comes in real handy for post-league pot games and practice sessions where the shot is totally used up. Instead of moving way left and chasing what's left of the head oil, I just play in the torched track area and bang 'em game after game without having to move much at all.

Lol, considering that my Detonator and Super Charge are the only two balls I have, it's a good thing I'm able to use my Detonator a lot because my Super Charge is drilled pretty strong (understatement, hehe).  Getting a Cranberry pretty soon, I'm hoping it'll go a tad longer with more backend than my Detonator, then IT will be my bread and butter ball.

When I just can't find anything, I pull out my Sapphire Zone and that usually finds its way into the pocket.

Last season it was my Revolution Vengeance. The sparkly green one.

This season it is the NuLine Guantlet. Just a little to much oil for the Vengeance this year. This ball is just works for the house condition to always be around the pocket with the worst of shots. Leaving lots of 10 pins lately but has performed well this season.

Sunday night proved that I am not giving away my Contact Zone 2.0.  I shot one of my most consistent sets this year with it.

Easily my MoRich Minotaur.  Posted 299/796 with it.  Shot my first ever 300 with it.  Cashed in a couple regionals with it.  Nice smooth roll.  Predictable turn.  Keeps pins low and hits like a friggin truck.  I love that ball.  It receives a place of honor when I finally retire it from service.
