your favorite dry lanes balls ever (non urethane)
« on: October 18, 2013, 10:17:29 PM »
over the years ive tried probably 30 drier lane balls (or so the advertise) but very few have really worked so was thinking whats your personal favorites?

heres my top 4
1. storm flame reactive (yep the gumball)
2. roto grip sonic x
3. hammer razr
4. storm big hit pearl

although after 30 games or so my ONE worked wonders on beat up lanes

My favorite had been the Motiv Recon pearl, however, I'm currently using the 900 Global Desert Hook with greater success.

A dry lane "reactive" ball, there is no such thing.

I'd have to agree with the Visionary Centaur Blue/Green! The Hammer Razor was a strong cover on a very weak core/pancake and it was ok when playing up the boards. The Slingshot was a good ball, but not a true dry lane ball. Just my $.02, Bruce

A dry lane "reactive" ball, there is no such thing.

Everything is relative.
If you don't think the word "dry" is applicable, consider this topic to be the best resin balls you can use on the lightest oil that will allow the use of resin.

If you wanted to be truly restrictive about this topic, you could say only polyester (all bowling balls are "plastic") balls will handle true dry. Then everyone would say "White Dot"or similar. BUT I've seen such dry conditions that White Dots roll out at the 4th arrow. Then only a true rock, like an original Blue Dot, would get through the heads cleanly. Then the subject would be closed. But we're not talking polyester balls.
