Ebonite Gamebreaker 2 vs Ebonite Cyclone
« on: February 15, 2015, 12:38:41 PM »
Since the Gamebreaker 2 and Cyclone have different cores, how would they look-perform different on the lanes if the Cyclone was sanded to 2000 grit like the Gamebreaker 2?

Gamebreaker is a solid GB10.7 coverstock and the Cyclone is the pearl version.

Think the GB would be a little more arc like in its shape, with the Cyclone's breakpoint a little further downlane.

Oh, I didn't realize the Cyclone was a pearl version. I thought that they both had the same cover.

I did see 2 Gamebreaker 2's in my senior league this past Tuesday. The wife had a 12# one and her husband either 14 or 15 lb. The wife's ball was thrown very slow and she had almost no hand, yet that ball hooked more than you think it would plus it had pin mixing action that you would never imagine for a ball thrown like that. The Husbands was thrown slower speed like 14-15 mph and it too had terrific pin mixing action as well as more strikes than you think it would get on some of it's hits.

Gamebreaker is a solid GB10.7 coverstock and the Cyclone is the pearl version.

I just got a Cyclone GB (special run) - it's a Cyclone core with the GB2 coverstock...it is awesome.

See my post in Ebonite board about it.

When the Cyclone first came put, there was a big discussion on whether it was a pearl or solid until an EBI rep or staffer came here and told us they were all, at that time, solids. I have one of the original colors (orange/yellow/black) and while it is often hard to tell, mine definitely seems to be a solid. Since they have brought out more of them, in various colors, some of them could be pearls, I suppose. I don't know for sure.

Until someone in the know, from EBI, says they are now all pearls, I personally assume they are still solids.

Charlest,

When I went to an Ebonite demo day and talked with one of the engineer's, he said that the Cyclones are pearls, not solids.

If what you are saying was the case with them all being solids, the Cyclone GB private run would have been a moot point.

The Gamebreaker 2, is a GB10.7 solid coverstock and the  Cyclone is a pearl version of GB10.7.

Sorry; don't know about the rest, but my Cyclone is a solid. Seen and used  it polished and dull - it's a solid.

I have a Blue/Gold/Pink one that seems pearly and a Yellow/Orange Black that is closer to solid.

The pictures I see of the new Cyclone solid is definitely different from both of the above!

Seems as though you are talking about two different Cyclones. The Cyclone GB is a private run and the description says that it has the cyclone core and gamebreaker cover.
