Title: Ravage
Post by: admin on December 31, 1969, 06:00:00 PM
Designed to increase length while retaining energy longer, increasing the rev rate at the breakpoint, producing a mind boggling entry angle, resulting in amazing pin carry and scoring potential on drier lane conditions.  With this newest addition to the MoRich line, bowler's world wide will soon be ravaging the competition!  Check back for more information to be released shortly!

I got this ball drilled to finish strong in the backend.  Its drilled with the pin under the ring finger and the mass bias is an inch right of the thumb hole.  I have not throw many games yet but i have been able to get a good idea of how the ball will work.  This ball is very clean through the front and mid part of the lane.  Once the ball hits the dry it revs up and turns the corner very hard.  It doesn't seem very jumpy it just hooks hard and sets up very nice in the pocket.  This ball reminds me of my Blue Retro maybe just more lenght.  If this ball sees the dry it will hook there is no doubt about that.  This ball hits very hard and seems to carry well.  According to my driller its can be a condition specific ball, but once the lanes open up this ball will be great.
I,ve had a chance to throw this ball on different conditions.  The ravage has worked very well on many different shots but it didn't work well on a heavier oil shot.

I have two drilled up right now.  I drilled my first one up 3 1/2" x 5 1/4" with the pin 1 1/2" above the midline (just under my ring finger) and I am keeping it at 2000 wet sand.  This ball is very clean through the heads and gets around corner really well.  I have been getting left with my feet and slow hooking it a little and I have shot 780, 762, and 705.  Obviously I enjoy the ball.  The second one I drilled was 2 1/2" x 6" with the pin 1/2" above the midline.  I am keeping this one shiny and I am using on 3 very specific patterns.  If I need to play up the boards, on overblocked lanes, and when the lanes just turn to dirt.  I have only thrown one series with this ball and shot 708 with a 190 game.  That series was shot on an overblock and I just moved right and bounced the dry.  I have had mine for almost 3 weeks and I really love them.

Just drilled one up Monday (6/15/04)... This ball is already my favorite.  I am fairly high rev bowler with medium ball speed and because of an awesome coach, my dad, I normally through a lot of forward roll.

We drilled this ball up as close to the the Forward roll for High Track players as we could...  We had to put weight hole in, but it is fairly shallow.

The ball checks up nice on oil and finishes very hard ( on oil shots I have 690 and 703 and two game with 8 in a row) on dry I can add a little side turn and the ball goes nice and long and still hits hard (one set on dry 650).  The ball is very compatible to my other equipment (sorry - members of the Big B family arg Monster) and is nice ball to add to my arsenal.

My main review is - The ball is great through the heads on either oil or no oil turns hard and hits like no other (even the Big B's in my bag)...  I have never had a Morich Ball before and I was skeptical of drilling this one, but now I am a believer and I will probably buy the next new and exciting ball that comes from Morich...

Major Snaps from this bowler to Mo and his company...

I drilled this 15lb ball using the sharp backend for high track player.  I have used the ball on heavy, medium, and dry oil patterns.  The ball will work well on heavy and medium oil conditions with the proper coverstock preparation.  The ball is too strong for dry lane conditions unless your ball speed is around 25 mph.  One thing I noticed about the Ravage is that it carries well even if I do not put a lot of hand in the ball.  My only dislike about the Ravage is a shot through the 1 pin (bowler's error) almost always results in the 4-6-7-10 split.  Best series with this ball 247+215+242=704. Great ball Mo!!!

You will not see me on the PBA Tour, but I love the game!!!

I love this ball!

The core is VERY powerful and fast revving at the backend.  The cover is versitle and good for medium to medium dry condition.  It hits hard and therefore helps me get more strikes.

It's easy to have high score with Ravage even if I am not bowling at the best form.  Excellent pin carry and hardly any splits or 10 pin single spare.

I would recommend Ravage to everyone I know.  Thanks MoRich.

This ball Flies!

I got this ball drilled

http://www.morichbowling.com/TotalAnnihilation/MedSharp.htm

and it glides beautifully down the lane and at the last moment it rolls back smooth and hits the pins with a destructive sound to back it up.  I just got it recently and have already broken 730.  I have many other balls for comparison like: Vicious Particle, Vicious Strike, Inferno and the Dry Heat.  This ball is tied with my VP by hitting the pins hard and leaving little ten pins.  I've only left 4 ten pins through out the 10 games I've thrown with it so far.  I am hoping to get my second 300 with this ball.  And what I've seen it can do I can tell it won't be very long now.  Those pins stand no chance when met with the Ravage!

THIS BALL IS AWESOME!!!  I got this ball about a month ago and I love it.  I drilled it up with the mid lane forward roll drilling on Mo's Extra layout sheet I got.  Pin is 5" Just under bridge, 1 3/4" up from midline,  MB is     2 3/4" from PAP, on my VAL.  My axis point is 5" over  and on the midline.

This layout just gives me an awesome reaction.  It gets down the lane pretty good from deep inside,  and just flys around the corner.  I was suprised at how hard it turned the corner with a forward roll drilling.  I used it on our house shot, and also scored well on PBA pattern C in our tough shot league. The carry and control on this ball is exceptional!  Even though it makes a very strong move, it is very controllable.  Haven't tried to mess with the cover yet, maybe in the future.  I don't think it is a ball for the drier shots, unless you don't have much hand.  You need some decent oil for this one.  If You haven't tried a Morich, I would highly suggest getting one.

I was recently looking for a new ball to go with my raging inferno. I have, in the past used mostly brunswick balls. I was looking to purchase an intense inferno to play an outside the track down and in shot. The pro shop owner was really pushing the morich line due to the weight block design. he said that I would increase my carry with a morich ball. we finally agreed on a ravage. So far I'm totally unimpressed. This ball gets through the heads nicely but the backend reaction is much less than advertised. Carry is allright but after three weeks I haven't finished a three game set with ball. I'm going to sand this ball up in hopes  of being able to use it for something other than a 200 dollar boat anchor.

Pin drilled 1 inch to the right of the index finger. CG kicked out to the left of the thumb hole. All I can say is wow. This ball was drilled to go long and a controllable arc. This ball hits like a truck with carrydown. Shot 266-179-243 first time in league. Pretty good for a 184 average at that house. Pick up one of these balle MO YOU RULE!!

Ball specs: 15lb 5 oz. 2.5 oz tw, 3" pin.
After drill, the pin was above the bridge and the mb left of thumb.

I have only used this ball for 3 games but I am going to review because I am not using the ball anymore. It doesn't react the way I thought it would. It is alot stronger than I thought it would be.

With the drill I put on the ball, I expected to get a long and controllable reaction out of it, WRONG!! The pin placement increases track flare causing the ball to read the lane earlier. The backend is smooth and controllable but the ball revs up way too early. Not a light oil ball for me at all. It is more of a medium ball. I would have altered the cover or even tried a different drill but I found a ball that gives me the reaction I was trying to achieve. I figured I would cut my losses and get rid of this one while it is still like new.

I am not saying this is a bad ball, just make sure you understand the dynamics of a core before drilling. I thought the drill would give me a certain look and it didn't. Its my fault for not researching the ball thoroughly before drilling. Oh well, you live and learn.

i bought this ball at nationals where it was drilled to go long and come hard at the end. i let the driller know that i was replacing a leveraged out, V2 Pearl that lingers in my arsenal becuz it just keeps on working for me long after it should have died. the driller informed me that the Ravage would be a lot more powerful and he didn't lie.
i throw the ball medium/slow (around 13-15 mph), and without high revs. i'll play anywhere from the one board to the thirty board with my mark and my feet. this ball has absolutely blown me away. it's been phenomenal for my game. i have yet to throw a game under 200 with this ball in league. this ball gets around the corner unlike any ball i've ever had and i buy 3 to 5 balls a year. my first series with it was 684 (222,215,247) and i was struggling mightily at the time coming off my first 400 series in 7 years!
i bowl on wood lanes that have an out of bounds and this cover stock allows me to get up the lane and then it turns like nothing i've ever seen! i hate mellodramatic reviews but i have to say that this is the best bowling purchase i ever made. i can't imagine a type of game that wouldn't like this ball. the hitting power is tremendous even if i launch it and the bowl rolls out- which is surprisingly hard to do. i hope this ball is appreciated becuz i'm definitely going to want another one.
Mo-Rich has a unique weight hole system that is described in the ball manual. People can't believe where my weight hole is (not even two inches away from my thumb hole and up about 2 inches). i don't know if that is why i get a ball reaction i've never attained before or what. i just want to reiterate- if you're thinking about buying this ball, get off the fence and buy it! its a monster that reads the midlane well on wet or dry conditions.

A FRIEND OF MINE SENT ME THIS BALL A MONTH OR SO AGO AND I AM COMPLETELY IMPRESSED WITH THIS BALL. CANT SEEM TO KEEP IT OUT OF MY HANDS. I HAVE SEVERAL OTHERS BUT THIS MY 1ST MORICH. HITS HARD REVS UP REALLY WELL AND EASY TO WATCH HOW IT READS THE LANES DUE TO THE COLORS. BY THE WAY I HAVE IT STACKED LEVERAGE
DRILL. NOT GOOD WHEN HEADS ARE BURNT BUT AFTER THROWING IT A WHILE I HAVE LEARNED TO BANK IT FROM INSIDE 3RD ARROW CHASING OIL AND TURNS REAL WELL AS LONG AS YOU HAVE AN OIL LINE. I AM AVERAGING 222 IN LEAGUE AND PROBABLY BETTER THAN 230 WITH THIS BALL. SEVERAL 700+S. HAVENT SHOT 300 WITH THIS ONE YET BUT HAD THE FRONT 10 IN ASSOCIATION TOURNAMENT WITH IT AND SHOT SCRATCH 2106 IN ALL EVENTS WITH IT. I WILL SHOOT MY FIRST 800 WITH THIS BALL. SHOT 773 BUT LEFT SOME SOLID 9 PINS. THANKS TO MY BUDDY DANE FOR SENDING THIS TO ME AND THANKS TO MO PINNEL FOR YOUR PRODUCT. LOOKING FORWARD TO TRYING ANOTHER MORICH SOON.

got this ball with pin next to ring, MB next to thumb... Great roll, can handle some oil, but on heavy/long without backends, it slides... great carry and hit, gives good mix. Only dislikes is that playing certian parts of the lanes, it can be a little over/under and a litle quick off the dry... other then that, great ball!!! first out of my bag.

Ball is layed out with the pin 2 1/2" from axis, 1 3/4" above the ML, with the MB 6 3/4" from axis just left and under the thumb.  There is a 1" weight hole, about 2 1/2" deep, 4"from my grip center on the ML.  A control drilling.

Initially, this ball was anything but control for me.  It was very sharp off the break, and had an outrageous backend reaction.  I was about half and half on if I liked the ball or not, but I was shooting lights out scores in 1 of my leagues with it.  That's the only reason I stuck wit it.  My first tweak was to knock the factory shine off the ball with grey pad.  This helped, but the ball was still more than what I was looking for.  I let the ball track in, and went about 25-30 games on it without cleaning it.  The ball really started to settle in from there, and I re-shined the ball with magic shine to a high gloss.  After the polish the ball went straight, a little too straight for what I was looking for, but nothing a light scuff with a grey pad couldn't help.  After all this, the ball was finally where I wanted it.

This is my go-to benchmark ball.  I can use it on 90% of conditions I use, and can never seem to put it down.  Ball responds well to hand changes, but it seems to work best for me when i'm getting up the back a little more cutting the side roll down, and getting a little tilt on it.  This ball carries the world when I can get my hand to that position.  It clears the heads, really reads the mids, and keeps revving in the back until it hits about 55 feet.  At this point, it sets nice for me right in front of the hole, and rips racks apart.  Hit and carry is amazing, just like any other MoRich ball I have.  I really can't say enough about this ball, it's just that good.

Overall, the best ball in my bag, and could be a benchmark in anybodies bag.  It hooks more than MoRich advertsied, but give it time and keep working on it, and it will be what you want.  This ball Is awesome to compliment the S&A, which should be an awesome trio when I drill the Sahara.  A real winner from MoRich here.

I got this ball from Rock77 (Great transaction btw), and discovered shortly thereafter that he and I only had 1/16th of an inch of difference between each others' spans. So after changing grips, and opening up the thumb hole a little bit, I had an all new ball to play with.

I must say that this is THE most versatile ball that has ever come off my hand. I can do anything with this. I switched pairs between every two games last night (they like me at my bowling alley), and every pair was oiled differently. On one pair I was throwing straight up the twig. On one pair I was playing 15, out to 2. (I felt like freaking Amleto Monacelli when I did that). I even got eleven in a row with this ball, and proceeded to gutter the last ball of the tenth frame for a 290.

Buy it. I swear you won't regret it.

When I first used the Ravage, I was in a slump (shoulder pain/extension problems) and was not stroking my shot at all. I put it down trying to build my confidence back with more familiar equipment. Last month, my shoulder pain started healing so I pulled it back out. I was on a fresh condition but it was humid and the lanes were a bit unpredictable. I reverted back to my really old line... up the 7-8 board with my hand more up the back of the ball (high track, 15 mph)... WOW...

Had my first mid-600 in a while with all games within 10 pins of each other. The Ravage stayed nice and calm up the boards until it hit the pines, then started a strong arc move to the pocket... clearing the rack very nicely... with a loud crack I did not hear when trying it before. No doubt, my stroke was coming back (went from 204 to 189 in 15-20 weeks) but the ease with which I was able to get to the pocket was incredible. It did not see to react as well to side-spin on the fresh conditions... so I stayed "up the back." I look forward to continuing my comeback with it and my Raging Red Fuze (new last year, even though it is an ancient ball)... the two that seem to be the most forgiving right now... confidence IS the key!

Got this ball from fellow BR member PGPelton fully plugged 1st drill. Gave it it DP3 tp punch up and he's done it once again, I don't know who to thank MOpinel for making it or DP3 for drilling it.  I'm no artist but the layout is

                   O      0      P               P-pin

                                                                                                                   WH           WH-wieghthole

                      0

Made to cut a corner just not a serious corner like DP said, and He was right. However the hit is the equivalent of Katrina and thats what I like. Smooth and controllable and responds well to speed adjustments.  Seems most happy when the lanes are med dry, all in all Good Ball

I bought a new Ravage off ebay, 16 lb. The ball was drilled with the 3 3/8" pin sharp breakpoint drilling off the sheet. I used it on a fresh THS, on synthetics, and this is a very strong ball. It probably has the most aggressive backend of any ball I have used with this drilling. This ball tends to leave solid 8's, 9's, and splits because it flips soo hard and at such an extreme angle. I was told to take the shine off and go with a 2000 matte finish to tame it a little, but I'm going to try and learn to control it better first and see if I can't learn something. This is definitely a ball that will take some experience to use correctly, but I think it will be a potent weapon once I learn all the nuances about it.

i am a cranker and i throw about 20-22mph and i have a hard time bowling on synthetic lanes no matter what i tried i cant get the ball to react.then i bought a ravage.i had it drilled to go long and hook late and it does.when the ball hits the break point it turns up.also the ball is very versitile and i can play multiple lines with it.i am very impressed with the ball.if you want something that will hook on a budget i highly recommend it.

I just received a used Morich Ravage from a guy that I bowl with and I have just had it redrilled. I have it drilled to go very long with a strong continuos back-end reaction. This ball fits my game perfectly. I throw very hard and very straight (kind of like pro bowler, Eugene McCune) this ball hits like truck. The pins do not have a chance. My bowling center just installed brand new synthetic lanes and approaches and I had been struggling with my other equipment. So I aquired this ball and an Ebonite Total NV. These two balls give me a great one-two punch on the new lanes. This ball works very well on carry-down and is usually the second ball out of my bag!
