Very early reading/revving Particle ball.  I believe this ball was one of the last Columbia poured Morich balls along with the Onslaught(Freak Out Coverstock).  The Mayhem is more along the lines of the cover from the Wow Solid or Icon 300, I can't quite remember which.  Basically you're not going to find a much earlier rolling piece than this from Mo that's out right now.  Funny thing is, everyone I see who polishes one, it seems to turn quite skid-snappy which leads me to believe the cover is more similar to the Icon 300 because I remember them being that way as well when polished up.  If you put the Mayhem in the current lineup I'd say it's similar in boards covered to the WMB, but about 3-5 feet earlier.  It definately needs some soup up front to be effective in box condition.

thanks DP...

I like the "theory" of adding this ball because it's a larger/heavier load particle than the Hercules, and the same basic core w/ an added upper flip block....just makes sense.......

Thanks.......

I believe it is a muscle type coverstock due to release time.

Very good ball I always see used polished!

The TA is just as good if not better.

We have a strong bowling team in our league.
All of the guys have the TA and most have a MAyhem also.

One guy who has both last year started 300 300 and then a woman had a breathing problem on lane next to his.  Within an hour or so he got restarted for an 836.
Don't know which ball.

She just had a lot of gas that day.

Jeff,

I will be adding the Mayhem to my line up. It should arrive Monday. Buddies called and Chris said it was the last one. Had a 1" pin 2 3/4 top. I'll find a good layout for it (something pin below). I have the WOMB, OnSlaught, Pioneer, Laby. I just seem to be more consistant with the older core in the OnSlaught and my now dead (cracked) Colossus. I was going to try the TA but opted for the Mayhem because of the versa-tech cover. I have never had an issue with the C300 covers. Everyone went GaGa when MoRich switched to Bruns. For me the Jury is still out on that one. I like the backed I get out of the C300 covers.

If your thinking Mayhem don't wait too long. Mine was $110 @ Buddies, not the best or worst price. I kick my self because I let a new one with good specs get away for $55 on Ebay. Missed last call on the auction.

Regards,
Tom

Hi Tom, thanks for the update!  I just nabbed one from PJM300 (Great buyer/seller by the way!)   It has 'very few' games and his stuff is always pristine!! Great deal!  Anyhow.....

YES! the Versa-Tech is what got my attention to,....because I love my Hercules' so much....I never realized that the versatech cover was on the Mayhem too! Just larger/higher load particles AND...the dual flip block instead of just the bottom on the Herc.  Seemed like THE most natural addition, even more so than a vangaurd core piece.  Although nice....the d/f core (according to kotm) is a better core for MY game....I'd agree.......I love the look I get out of both of the Hercs.

This Mayhem should give me a few more options when going to league. Especially after last night where the lanes were doing crazy things! CRAZY!  Obviously my strongest piece....the Mayhem will also allow me to "cut a path" and fight some early carry-down our house usually sees...

I'm looking forward to it!

Yeah, the Herc is along the lines of the shell from the original Icon, so the Mayhem should be along the lines of Icon 300.  Both great covers.  Lots of options you can do with either ball.

Tom......ball arrived yesterday, KOTM has free reign to do what he wants....we've discussed it before, so I'm just letting him do his thing!!

He'll call me when it's ready and then I'll report back!
