Anybody polish a Seek & Destroy ?
« on: February 12, 2006, 02:14:31 AM »
I've had my S&D for about 1 1/2 months, laid out with Asym flip drill and the ball is great. I anit changed the box surface of the ball and I was wondering what some polish would do for it ?

I'm pretty sure somenody posted that they polished it, but the post is gone, I can't find it at all.

Hey can you describe your drilling to me?  I'm lookin to get Asymm flip drill on one also, wonder how the reaction is?  Will it still cut through some carrydown?  How long does it go?  Good question about the polish, wonder how that would affect the particle.

I remember one guy posted about it and said it was impossible to control when it was polished! I cant remember who he was though.

I had one for a short period of time... I tried several surfaces, including polished.  When I polished mine, it became an over/under nightmare...  but then again, mine reacted poorly from the very beginning...  If you are happy with the current reaction, I would suggest keeping up with coverstock maintenance (cleaning after every use) but wouldn't suggest altering the surface... once I polished mine, I was unable to get the original "out of box" reaction back...

I have to put a 2000 Abralon to keep it on the Lane. It hook more than my WMB. its drill strong. anyone know if this hook more than the Action? I got one here duno what to do with it. According to bowlingball Action hook is around 205 and S&D only 196 ?

That scale is terrible.  The Total Shock and Awe (what many believe hooks the most) is markedly less on the scale than the strike zone, EPXT1 (highest, yeah right), Real Deal, etc.  The S&D will hook more than the Action.  The action is for med/heavy at best.  The S&D with a moderatly strong drilling is alot more than the action.

Mycroft statement correct, in that Mo said no polish for any style....Just use abralon pads 180-4000 for the surface changes....
