Onslaught vs Ravage
« on: August 03, 2005, 12:30:50 AM »
I've seen the Ravage, BIG!!!

Have not seen the Onslaught!  Have a chance at one from a friend....cheap.

A friend says it makes an L at end of lane!

Mr. Lucky already throws a lot of Ls!

Well?

just about the same core Lucky...slight density changes.....but the Onslaught will be slightly more angular.......

THAT IS..........if both drilled the same ....drilled to be "angular".....

Basically a bit sharper overall than the Ravage........

LUCKY...you should've let me know you were interested in this ball...I had one up in NC I could've thrown to let you see how it works on our side (though I don't think it's easy to get a read on a ball the way I throw it)! I love it though...it's the next step up from my Wired, which is my benchmark, go-to ball. I threw my Onslaught last night third game...just LOVE IT (though the pin does get annoying every now and then. Very strong on the backend. I will say this though, that it is drilled to get down the lane and snap, whereas my Wired is drilled a bit more archy if that's even a word  (GREAT...now the rightie takes over the left side of the lanes AND makes up his own words...GEESH)!

BigWillyStyle(my son's favorite bowler!)
Even now he says...."Who am I?",  (swings the arm a few times in a bowling stance).
.....Big Willy Style!!!

I think I'll take!

PS wired on our lanes for me finds pocket but leaves 7s on the flushest hits you've ever seen!

Hey Lucky,
You'll probably like your Onslaught, but it does tend to snap! You have to be firm with your speed.

My first time OOB I used it on second shift condition. Long Lite oil condition with a little carry-down. Perfect for this piece. The craziest thing was...all strikes that I got had superb carry....BUT....the pins fell in X's. Yes that's right, I said X's as in strikes!! The pins would continually criss-cross each other and go down in X's. Hardly ever in just one direction.

I don't know if anyone else has had this experience, but it was the craziest thing I'd ever seen a ball do.
Some days you're the bug....some days you're the windshield...that's bowling!

Mine drilled 3 x 6 mb up 2 3/4 and this ball is great but the Ravage can do the same polished. To me the Ravage flips more!!

Honestly I got a lot of balls. No NOT BOWLING BALLS!

LuckyLefty,

I'm glad I was able to leave such a good impression on everyone (although I hope he doesn't start bowling like me...Carpal Tunnel SUCKS)! If you decide to get rid of your Wired...PLEASE let me know. It is one of my top 3 balls to date (right up there with the Cuda/C and the Green Gargoyle). Tell your boy I said hey, and hopefully we'll catch up sometime. I can't remember...where do you hail from?  Till then...
