Assym's=uncontrollable breakpoint...FALSE
« on: August 08, 2005, 03:04:56 PM »
I don't know who came up with this rediculous argument but it is getting a little tired reading about "if you want control, you should go with a symmetric weightblock." It just blows my mind some of the theories that come about from limited experience with a new concept. It seems as if a few people had experience with sharp assymetrics, and now everyone believes that they are release sensitive and uncontrollable. EXTREMELY EXTREMELY FALSE!

LOL !!

I'm uncomfortable with the implication of your above statement, which is that symmetrics lose optimum backend momentive at the expense of being smooth in the heads and mids. I'm not a professional, but that hasn't been my experience.

Again, I'll wait for kotm here to finalize, but from my "teachings" from zen master "mill" ....the control drill on a strong asym (Morich ball) is what they call 'late revs' ...so it does read the mids because the core is aware of lane surface changes...but it's loping..(not really, just revving less)..then it starts to rev faster later, but it's revving in a forward direction so it never "jumps" ...thus....smooth all around but strong at the pins w/ good carry potential.  King...help me out here !!

I understand the theory that if you get everything absolutely right (i.e. surface and drill) relative to the the bowlers release, speed, PAP, and target conditions, you can tweak an asymmetric to give that additional "punch".

Nawww that's just a good driller that's all! Honestly,...see above for that answer...I think I'm on the right 'track' haaaaa

My personal experience (for what it's worth) is that the stars generally do not align in this manner, and that asymmetrics, when all is said and done, become special purpose balls.

NOPE! disagree....all of mine are very versatile....easy to read, carry well, etc, etc.........

However, when I hit the California LOTO
you mean LOTTO?!? isn't that the Mega Millions that Michigan is in ?!

and can hire KOTM as my personal bowling consultant, I'm going to put his asymmetic vision to the test. If you swear by the guy, he must have some merit.

Move to Michigan Steven...you'll live like a King out here !! But the lotto WILL help.....kotm don't come cheap !
