ABT Victory in SLC, Utah
« on: December 10, 2006, 01:01:58 PM »
Won my 5th tournament today using all Morich stuff... Hercules pin above fingers and mass bias strong to qualify w/30 clean frames and a Awesome Hook drilled Assym Flip most continuation w/a target weighting hole. AH taken up to 1000 wet abralon and Hercules down to 500 dry abralon. I used my Hercules on the fresh shot to avoid over/under on the 42 foot pattern. Worked beautifully. The AH was golden on the 3rd block because the shot opened up in the track and I could bump it w/o it jumping left. Shot 700 to qualify 3rd in semifinals and shot 257-256 scratch in the finals to win $1,470 total. I have won over 5 grand using Morich on the toughest of conditions this season on ABT.

Can't wait for my Awesome Revs to show up Monday!

Nice bowling Dave!  ABT lane conditions are not known to be easy by any means.  Nice rolling.

Congrats Dave, 1470?  If I thought it was that much I might have shown up!

Thanks Brian... That was the most I ever had to finesse a shot in my life.

Clean set was $600, $100 in brackets, $770 for 1st... Next weekend has better money. See you there!

Dave, I'm assuming you're in the ABT Masters Division, right? In Minneapolis we only get a handful of entries (17-30 max with the former being the average turnout) for the Masters and the first place prize is usually only $300 or so, while the classic can be as high as $3K with 150 entries. Alot of it has to do with the CBA tournaments that attract the best bowlers from the midwest. The fee for a CBA is $75 for 8 or 10 games depending on the format, while the ABT is also about the same fee once you get into the pots and yet it's only 4 games. I think many people feel it's just not a good value.

Congratulations on your victory! Nice to see the ABT Masters flourishing in good old Utah (where I have many relatives!).
