Title: Morich at the Open
Post by: bowl400 on March 26, 2007, 08:39:39 AM
i have read all the Fury, Special Agent, and TNV lovefests.  wondering if any one is using and scoring well with morich?  leaving for the open in about a month with a TSA, Revs, and an S&A.

well, either morich users are being shy or no one who has already bowled used a morich ball.  i guess i will just have to figure it put on my own.  at least i will have one other person in our group who will using morich stuff to discuss reactions and lines with.  my friend and i also thought about wearing morich patches, but we were afraid that Mo might come down and rip them off our shirts after watching us bowl

We went first week of March and the lanes were pretty much what I expected. I came with an out of box condition TSA, a polished Seek and Destroy, and a polished TSA. I also brought along a Super Carbide Bomb which I used to open up the lane. I started playing over the fourth arrow with my SCB and went out to about thirteen. I played that for about a game and switched to my sanded TSA playing the same way. Unfortunately I was too tentative to throw the ball the way I am accustomed to because if I missed by a board or two, it would slide and leave my with a mess to make. When I hit my mark it was deep flush.

Ultimately I think the equipment I had with me worked great, but my inability to trust it, hurt me. I don't get the opportunity to play that deep very often which is why I came back home and am bowling many more local tournaments lately to get more comfortable with that shot. I love my Morich stuff and I wish I had another chance at that shot because I  know I would hit it better next time.

I shot 1726 and feel like it should have been >1800.

Hope this helps and feel free to pm me if you have any further questions.

Thanks,

Scott

yeah, our two teams plan on trying to use the wisconsin strategy during the team event.  we will all start out with something with a lot of surface around the 10 board, but no further left than 12.  hopefully this will open up a nice small area for the TSA or the Revs to work.  both balls are box condition.  of course, hopefully all of us can hit the second arrow

I brought a EPXt1 Awesome Hook and a polished Seek and Destroy. The S&D was a good spare ball But Hook worker really well Problem was I was the only guy that wasn't afraid of swinging it left and screaming it back everyone else played up ten or even farther right than that. To make a long story short eventually I had to move rigfh in with them cause I couldn't get past the oil they were moving into my line.

IMO Awesome Hook will do just as well as Fury and Special Agent or TNV. just have to give it a try.

I would say it'd be the most aggressive in OOB than the other balls. Believe me, if I was going, it would definitely be first out of the bag.
