Title: Probably a silly question.....
Post by: C-G ProShop-Carl on May 24, 2004, 09:32:28 PM
This may have been answered in an earlier post....but I didn't see it.

Now that MoRich has gone to Brunswick coverstocks are other balls like the Mayhem, Onslaught Hercules etc...discontinued? AND if they aren't then who is producing those balls for them? My guess is that if they are not discontinued they have had enough produced to answer the call for bowlers that want them. I was just wondering.....there is no chance that Brunswich is making those balls for them now, is there?

I am probably the only person not happy with the change of coverstocks. I just do not see Brunswick's coverstocks holding up well. 30-40 games in they just seem to have tracked up very fast.....and lose a ton of reaction...particularly their particle equipment (which Mo has shown in the past that he likes to have in his equipment).

I don't know if they've been discontinued or not, but I have noticed several "on-line" proshops that have discounted those balls.

You will still be able to get most of the old balls for a while...  Ex..  I think you will be very happy with the new coverstocks being developed.  Morich will still put a lot of effort into developing new coverstocks and matching them to our cores.  If you have any specific questions, PM me.

And - for what it's worth - Brunswick coverstocks seem to hold up the best of any in the business.

I have lots of brunswick, and I've never had a brunswick ball die on me. Storm, columbia, track - yes. Brunswick - NEVER!!!

Not happy to hear this myself, I liked Mo's own cover ideas on his wild cores.  That's what made Mo so special to me......

APK,

Mo did't use his own coverstocks, but ones that Columbia sent to him, according to Fred Carrol, his tech director. They send him a bunch that he puts on each core and he/Morich organization selected the cover they wanted to go with each core.

Excaliber,

My opinion:
Since all the Morich covers, up to but not including the Ravage, were Columbia's, the balls like the Mayhem, Onslaught would not be the same if Brunswick made them. No doubt, like the Ravage, Mo and his gang will put some Brunswick covers on his current cores as well as develop some new ones just for Brunswick's own coverstocks.

I'd still love to see a new version of the Labyrinth. So far as I am concerned the best match of cover and core since the concept of such matching was first accepted as valid.

Actually the particles that are placed into Morich equipment are designed by Mo himself and tested by a number of people before each ball is released.  The coverstocks will continue to be as good as they have always been.  This new partnership with Brunswick will be a benefit to our customers and both companies.
