Ravage
« on: May 12, 2004, 05:21:53 AM »
I recently attended a clinic given by Mo and Ten In The Pit Pro Shop in Allentown.  We had a great time and would recommend this clinic to anyone who is near one.  Mo is very personable and is an expert on the modern game.  Mo drilled me up a Ravage and an Onslaught for my wife.  I've had it for about 3 to 4 weeks but I didn't use it that much because Mo changed my span and pitches so much that once I used his span I couldn't switch back to my old stuff because I would hang in them.  So here's what I can tell you when I did get to use it.  As I said before, Mo told me it was PK18, not 17.  He drilled it what he called a Strong Symmetrical drill, pin 2 1/2" from my pap and MB 5 3/4" away.  The ball goes very long (for me) and had a strong, hard arc into the pocket.  It performed it's best on my late shift leagues (if I scuffed the cover it would work better for me on fresh shots....maybe I'll get a second one or wait to see if a solid will be coming out).  The carry is exceptional.  Even when I feel like I missed it off my hand (still getting used to my new span and pitches)it seemed to find the pocket with enough left to carry the corner.  I am very impressed with this ball and will start to add more MoRich as they come out.  Even though score is all relative, the two full sets that I did get to use it, I had 735 and 730.

From what I heard, the next ball will be a Brunswick Particle with a similar core to the Ravage that will be called the Total Annihilation (sp?).  I think it will be available in June.  I am definately getting that one.  I didn't hear what coverstock he would be using but I would venture a guess that it's not from the Activator family.  When I was warming up at the clinic I was using my Uranium.  He was watching me and asked if I had anything else with me.  I said I had my Cherry Bomb and he said bring that out and put that other piece of s..t away.  He doesn't like the Activator coverstock and said that he would not use it on his equipment.  I don't know if that will change over time but that's what he feels right now.  Maybe his son that has been posting can add to this.

The Mass Bias strength on his current stuff is usually around .017 and .018.  I heard that a new one being worked on for end of the year will have a MB strength of .022!  Can't wait to see this ball!  That's all I have.  Bottom line, the Ravage is a great later shift ball.  Nice length, strong arc and tremendous hit and carry.  Take care....JS

No problem...  When people purchase our equipment, I want them to have made and informed decision.
