new ideas for ball purchase
« on: November 15, 2005, 12:54:14 AM »
Need assistance.  Okay its almot christmas and I need some ideas for a gift for my future wife.  First off she doesnt have a high ball speed but has a high rev rate.  ODD yes.  But this is the problem her current aresenal is RAVAGE, CHARGE, ERASER, FLASH POINT.  of those she only uses the first two.  She is running into a problem with the ravage of getting down the lane and the ball hits like a dud.  When she first got the ball the ball hooked forever, Fast forward four months later the ball will go make the move to the pocket and leaves flat tens all day long.  So I need some ideas on a new ball.  HERE ARE THE REQUIRMENTS.

I KNOW JEFF AND OTHER ON HERE CAN HELP YOU GUYS HAVE NEVER LET ME DOWN IN THE PAST

1. BALL THAT GOES EXCETIONALLY LONG AND SNAPS (IN HER TERMS A KNOME RUNS DOWN THE LANE AT FOURTY FEET AND DROP KICKS THE BALL LEFT)
2. BALL THAT IS FOR MED TO MED LIGHT LANE CONDITIONS WITH CARRY DOWN.
3. SOMETHING FROM MORICH LINE OR STORM  ( IKNOW WRONG AREA BUT NEED ASSISTANCE)

yup.  I am the person designated the ball butler.  But yeah I do all I cant clean it.  Problem is I think it might be that the person using it might be doing something diffrent.  I dont know yet.  But I do clean it its just a noticable difference when the ball wont continue to hook through the pocket.

Jeff Do you think maybe washing it since the ball might be saturated  below the surface.  I only starting doing the matentince on the equipment for my fiancee since we moved about three months ago.  She has had the ball for about four months before then so I could be that COULDNT IT?

not sure......just asking........of course you could try it...give it a deep clean w/ NeoTac Hook It of anything else you choose...it might help!

First thing I think of is maybe it's flaring too soon ? New pin placement or polish ? Not necessarily in that order !

What surface is currently on the Ravage ?

In the Morich line, I have been very happy with my Sahara.  It gives me better than average length but when it turns the corner it moves very hard and continuous.

If you could move out of Morich and Storm, I would recommend the Punisher.  Truly a med-light ball with excellent length and huge backend and very good mix and carry.

Hope this helps.  Scott

jr,
The ball is at ofb finish.  I am thinking that it might be that the ball is burning up too soon.  So maybe altering the surface and polish it.  Although give past tries I have turned a couple of balls into really expensive plastic balls.  Thank goodness they were already damaged equipment.

scot,
Mo equipment is made by brunswick most of the balls produced by mo are the same exact ball that brunswick has.  from what i have been told

No...a different surface never hurts!!  Try a super fine grit NO polish! Like a 2000 abralon pad ! I don't use polish....just finer grit smooth! I love it ! That might do it!

Whoa!! No sir! ONLY the covers! (for the most part) Mo puts some tweaks in the covers specifically for his stuff too.....

that was what I was thinking.  I know it was one of the two from conversations I have had with them .  I knew I was wrong on one part of that statement.  I do believe that bwk produces the balls for him.  I think that might be inpart due to the coverstocks.  Who knows.  You probably know more then I do
