wmb better than i thought
« on: March 22, 2006, 03:40:54 PM »
ok ok ok this is my absolute post until i shoot a big game with it anyway. I thought i had done everything right ,polished it scuffed it ,redrilled it, but i never paid attention to the fact that it was black instead of charcoal. so last night i decided to soak it in hot water along with my big one and oracle. to my amazement the ball was charcoal again, and guess what else ,all that hook and carry that was gone is back .I shot with i today and it out performed my oracle ,(not enough oil for the big one), but for this shot all i had to do was get it roght it did the rest, stronger than my oracle by a good 7 boards. So my tip for today when your wmb turns black it is oil saturared and it wont work like that, and the baall cleaners alone cant restore the factory intended ball surface. you have to get the oil out of the pores for these balls to perform, i am guessing this might be a once a week or once every 2 week thing. I plan to do a better job on my equipment maintenance, maybe i can break 150 soon.

ha, see it was your fault!
no but really I have to bake mine and sand it at least 1 time every two weeks, and that is if i bowl 1(3 games and practice)leauge and 1(3 games of qualifing and up to 7 matchplay games along with practice) tournament a week granted I only wse it about 1/3 of that time. the maintenence is key, as someone said before if you take care of the cover the ball will take care of you.
