Polished T A verses Ravage
« on: February 21, 2005, 08:27:28 AM »
I really like my T A dull, but sometimes it is a bit much and burns up leaving 10 pins.  I was considering a Ravage but the T A is so awesome that I am going to try it polished and maybe get a new one.  Can anyone compare a polished T A with a Ravage or tell me how you like your T A polished or dull?  Does the Ravage have the same cover as the T A?

I have Ta and 2 ravages one dull ravage one polished ravage, anyways i keep TA at 1000 matte works great that way i tried polishing it up and it skated to far for my liking. The additive they use affects the ball taking polish in my case but i am just an average bowler i hope this helps if you are high rev i think it will work if average revs go with ravage. The hit is about as good with either ball and ravage reacts like two whole different balls polished or dull. The TA did not want to recover like my polished Ravage does so on the same pair.

I have a Ravage and a Ravage 2.I had my Ravage polished to 2000 it went way to long, it gave me a lot of over/under reaction.I use my Ravage and I use a maroon scotchbrite pad on it.It works great on medium oiled lanes. The ball grabs at the breakpoint nicely and it still retains energy. My Ravage 2 is awesome for more dry lanes. It has the same core as the Ravage 1 but it has a polished hybrid cover. It goes long then screams sideways. My opinion try to find one of those.I feel the Ravage 1 is better for medium oil not polished.I know a lot of people throwing the Ravage 1 and most of them use it dulled up.,and the Ravage 2 for dry to medium dry.

Tried The T A polished last nite and confirmed what MRbowlingnut said.  Ball was fine the 1st game but had to square up, shot 221 with a wide shot washout in the 9th.  During 2nd game carry was non existant, Started leaving stone 8 and 9 pins, moved in to open lane up resulted in flush pocket shots leaving 10 pins and not good recovery as I had 2 washouts.  No doubles and 2 washout opens, scored 166.  Pulled out my polished AMF FUSION, got great reaction, shot 236.  I have returned the cover back to 1000 grit dull and hope I get the same reaction I had before, 5 700's in 7 weeks in one league.  What was I thinking?
