Title: WRW LAYOUT?
Post by: chitown on January 11, 2007, 12:02:48 AM
Does anyone know what layout walter ray was using on his Mo Rich ball during the last show?

Almost always something like 4" pin-to-PAP with the MB in the strong position.  Most of his layouts are very strong, probably because he's so speed-dominant.  He's said several times that he prefers to make his equipment react differently using surface changes rather than layout changes.

I know he also has said that using the strong pin position layouts allows him to control the break point.  The ball tends to flare a lot early and layoff on the back end.

I'm just wondering what exact layout he used.

You might be able to find pictures on his website (http://"http://www.walterray.com").  Last time I looked, the equipment was kinda old, though.  Maybe the Morich website, since he's on staff.  When BrunswickInsiders is updated for the Reno tournament, Ric might have pictures from TV day.  Big B didn't have anyone on the show, though, so he might not have stuck around to take pictures.

He uses mostly flip drillings, altering the cover to get the desired reaction.

what do you mean by "flip drillings"? a lot of his pins are close to his axis I really dont consider that "flip". just my opinion anyways.
