Motiv is bringing back the popular Microcell Polymer coverstock in the Frixion Mark 3 Pearl and pairing it with the Halogen V2 core to create the Motiv Blue Tank. This cover and core combo produces a ball that creates great traction through the front of the lane. Through increased traction and strength this mid-performance bowling ball offers a controlled shape like a urethane ball but on heavier oil conditions.

The Blue Tank is the First MCP Ball I have punched and I am so glad I did. With my rev rate and speed being what they are it's nice to have a ball in hand that allows me to stay a little further right a little longer and play controllable tighter lines to the pocket. The Blue Tank for me is a tick cleaner and a couple boards stronger off the spot than the Purple Tank. This makes the Blue Tank an ideal ball for me when I am blending the shot with the Purple and need just a little bump up before making the big jump in with say the Odyssey or if I'm bowling on Medium Volume, Flatter Conditions and want to ensure I keep my angles tight and in front of me.

Get yourself a Blue Tank, You will be glad you did and Remember It's Not Urethane. It's Micro Cell Polymer

Microcell Polymer is back and in its strongest form yet. The MOTIV Blue Tank continues the tradition of the MCP line by providing smooth, urethane-like motion while also providing a more resin-like forgiveness at the breakpoint. The Blue Tank finds its best footing by creating an early, strong motion in the oil for games in the earlier blocks. To help tame down the sheer power of the MCP + Frixion M3 coverstock, they wrapped it around the taller Halogen V2 core (2.59 RG, .023 Diff) to provide a bit more push.

Out of the box the ball looked like it would be an oil beast, but I was further surprised the moment I put it to the lanes to see how versatile it is. When I laid out my Blue Tank, I was hoping that it would be a beefier Tank Blitz, but not too close to it as to make it redundant, and I got just that. After wearing off the new-ball dust (taking three off the left several times), I could see this cover/core combination working well together to provide traction in oil but save just enough energy to make a great continuous motion through to the pit. On my typical league night, I can start with this ball crossing a solid arrow further left than with my Tank Blitz, or just a board or two right of the Trident Odyssey, and keep with it through the first game. Once the transition hits, I need to switch down to the cleaner, but still strong, Mythic Jackal to get into a ball that will tip back from greater angles but still have good overall strength. Where I find the Blue Tank at its best is when the lanes are slick, the pattern is short to medium in length, the midlane and backends need to be controlled, and resin is a bit too finnicky in its reaction consistency. I love the reaction all my MCP equipment has given me, and this ball is shooting straight towards the top of the list for me. Strength, control, consistency, and power that has the forgiveness of reactive while being able to play urethane-like lines. The Blue Tank can be a strong staple of any arsenal.

Strengths
The Frixion M3 Pearl MCP coverstock was created when urethane coverstocks are not strong or continuous enough.
Blue Tank has more length than all other Tank weaponry, in terms of overall hook it fits between Desert and Covert Tank.
Blue Tank offers a bigger backend reaction to that of Purple and Desert.

Weaknesses
I used Blue Tank on the Shark Pattern and managed to be successful however that was due to manipulating my ball motion, I could see that the coverstock was not meant to handle heavier patterns. Legacy, Flare, Uprising, Odyssey are far better options combating heavier patterns.

Overall Summary
On the fresh my reaction with Blue Tank was great, I played more right than I was when using Tank Blitz and it was cleaner to that of Covert Tank. I like using Blue Tank to blend a pattern instead of carving it with Forge Flare or Trident Odyssey, in terms of blending the pattern Blue Tank blends and is smoother at the breakpoint to that of the Venoms and Supra Enzo.

You will find Blue Tank ideal for when you want more ball motion than what Purple Tank is offering you on medium conditions and flatter conditions, reasonable for keeping your angels in front of you.
Add some Blue to your bag and make your opponent blue.
Your game will thank you for it .
