Title: Forge Ember
Post by: BallReviews-scodaddy21 on October 06, 2022, 01:57:09 PM
The Motiv Forge Ember is a performance ball with a hybrid coverstock that offers more friction than Motiv's previous hybrids. This ball offers more power in the oil without giving up motion down the lane. This allows the ball to be utilized longer during competition. The combination of the Detonator core and Infusion MXC Hybrid Reactive coverstock provides control, traction, and strength on high volumes of oil while creating a unique shape.

The Forge Ember for me proved to be just what I was looking for. Talking with my PSO I was concerned with the box surface possibly being a little much but I was wrong in that thought. The Ember being as smooth as it is thru the heads but remain with a heavy roll and not so sideways finish gave me the Symmetric Solid that didn't hook at my toes but also didn't over hook when it saw the friction. It's a little weird to discuss as they don't necessarily go hand in hand but its how it rolled for me and I am so glad it did. Right off the press in a doubles tournament I shot 280-279 and my partner and I came in 5th place overall for the weekend. My moves were minimal and the shape thru the pins remained predictable with very modest moves until the shot was blown wide open. I absolutely recommend this ball to a friend and fellow competitor if they are in need of a Sym Solid has a heavy arc roll but doesn't start at your toes.

This ball is AMAZING! If you're looking for something a little stronger, but as angular as the Blue Coral Venom or the Pride, this one is IT! This ball does not struggle whatsoever in the oil, and the amount of sharpness and continuation is unreal! This ball will be perfect for the fresh shots and could easily be a force to be reckoned with on the lanes!

Core:  Detonator
Type: Symmetrical
Coverstock: Infusion MXC Hybrid Reactive
Box Finish: 2000 Grit LLS
Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xURXsWiW3cY
Layout: 45 x 4 ½ x 70

Strengths
Forge Ember provides traction and continuation downlane.

Forge Ember is not as angular as Iron Forge, however Infusion MXC Hybrid Reactive is powerful at the breakpoint.

Forge Ember has more length than Forge Fire and Forge Flare, in terms of backend it fits under Jackal Legacy and Trident Odyssey.

Weaknesses
Forge Ember is not something I would use on light oil and dry conditions.  I would recommend Top Thrill for lighter conditions.
