I still think it's near impossible to not try the sigma sting. Its truly a ths killer. Should replace the nomad if you did try it. I've put over 100 games on mine in the last 120 games I've bowled and i usually don't even put 50 games on a ball before i get rid of it. And it's not uncommon for me to drill 15 balls in a season. I've drilled 1 since i drilled the sigma sting and that was the end of last season.

+10000.  The Sigma Sting is awesome on THS and works well on some sport patterns too.  Easily one of the best I've thrown from any manufacturer.

vkowalski- Glad you tried out the brand.  I told you that you'd get MOTIVated.  ;)  I'm planning on also adding either a Tribal/Tribal Fire, Venom Shock, Jackal, and possibly the new Forza.

Have to agree with everyone else.  My sting is by far my favorite ball.  Not only is it a house shot killer, I used it at some point on every sport shot we bowled on in the summer, except for the very short patterns.

I am a new member to the Motiv family.  I went to a "Test Drive" today and got to throw the Octane, Venom Shock and Jackal.  The Jackal allowed me to play much further inside (stroker) than I have ever been able to before opening up the lane and roaring back to the pocket - I had to get one.  I was also very impressed with the Venom Shock, very smooth for playing my usual up and in shot.  The Octane would be more limited for me due to my higher rotation angle creating enough flip already.  Mike from Motiv was excellent in working with me.

Even though I have a couple of medium, benchmark type balls working for me right now, I think the Sigma Sting will have to be my next Motiv ball after hearing so much praise about it here.
MOTIV Jackal LE .................40 x 4.5 x 40 p2.5
MOTIV Revolt Vengeance......45 x 4.0 x 50 p3
MOTIV Forza GT ..................50 x 4.0 x 70 p2.5
MOTIV Sigma Sting..............50 x 4.0 x 45 p3

I know the feeling!!  I won a Tribal Fire and really liked the way it rolls for me.  Seems to hit much harder as well.  The only "problem" i have with it, it is much stronger than expected.  Nit a bad problem to have.   So it was recommended to me that if I threw Motiv, the Primal Rage is a must have... So i got one of those.  Well i like that ball even more!!  I now want to add something for drier conditions, and leaning to the Ascent Apex.  Wondering how that rolls for you compared to you TF?

The Sting is a great piece, but that Shock is pretty great also. Such a versatile piece as well. The Sting and Shock are a great combo. Motiv stuff is really great right now, hard not to try them all..

I recently purchased The Sting and love it, too! Great ball---aggressive yet predictable.

Hope you guys are right.  Son needed a medium ball for his tournament bag. So just ordered a 14# sigma sting. He's a motiv kid, so he was eyeballing it anyway. The fact that they're offering $20 rebate this month on this ball didn't hurt.
Current bag:
DV8 Turmoil 2 Pearl
Radical Squatch hybrid
Motiv Forza GT
Hammer Black Widow Gold
DV8 Vandal
DV8 Creed Rebellion

Snake, your son will love The Sting. I have had mine for about a month. The ball has nice length with a good backend pop and a smooth arc. I am comfortable using The Sting on all spare shots except the 10 pin. The ball is everything that the guys here say about it.

Ok. Have to say. It's a toss up between the Revolt and Shock as my favorite. Talk about two great balls!  The Apex is a very nice piece also for me. The Tribal Fire, honestly the jury is still out. Will throw again tonight with a surface change.

Maybe the pin down layout is creating too long a hook phase on a ball that already gets good length???

I know a Motiv staffer who likes his Fire MUCH better at 2000. Depending on what your after maybe consider a hole down your VAL as well.

I'm not seeing good length. Ofcourse I haven't polished it yet. I find the cover to be super fast of friction

Ok so its the other way for you. Thought you had decent amount of tilt. Surprised its not getting down lane. Mine is almost as long as my Tribal.

The joy and fun of trying to make sense of it all!!!!
