Venom Shock vs Forza
« on: February 19, 2016, 10:54:24 AM »
Hey friends!

I'm trying to decide what I want to get for WI state and Nationals. I've been throwing a Forza Redline and a Tag primarily and they are both rolling phenomenally, but I'd like to get something with more traction and mid-lane roll.

I do have a Revolt Vengeance, but it's got a lot of games and it never gave me as much reaction as I wanted (tried many surfaces).

I've always wanted a Shock because I've heard so many great things, but I'm watching EJ throw the Forza on Xtra frame today and it's looking pretty good.

Is anyone able to compare the two pieces and potentially let me know where they might fit among my others?

I'm a high rev/fairly high speed bowler. High track and medium axis rotation.

Any help is appreciated.

The original Forza at least for me is the perfect ball if you want it to see more a mid lane roll.  I do not think that this ball gets enough love!!

Everyone loves the Shock, I really like mine. So you should get one of those anyway. lol
The Shock has to be the best ball for your money.

I also have the Forza and love that ball too. They do have similar core numbers but the major difference is the surfaces on the ball (at least out of the box). The Shock has less surface than the Forza.

From what I've seen the Forza is definitely more in-line with your benchmark/mid-lane roll reaction and the Shock has more power at the pins/down lane. I don't thinkt hey're too different for overall strength. If you're building around the Redline and Tag I don't think you can go wrong with either of them. Just depends on what type of reaction you need/prefer.

How is you Vengeance drilled? That should be stronger than either of those two.

I have the forza and would never leave home without it. Almost threw it in the trash after I first got it though. Couldn't carry all 10 with it to save my life. After a few games and I got it broken in, I wish I could throw it more often. I don't see enough oil or long enough oil to throw it lately. Keep in mind that I can throw urethane often where I bowl. I don't have a shock but I have thrown one for a few shots and bowler with a teammate that had one. Loved the roll of it and had to stand a couple boards further right than with the forza
