Best conditions for your Motiv Forge & Forge Fire?

1- If you have both, how are you using them, drilling them?
2- What conditions are they working for best now that you've thrown them a while?
3- Where do they struggle?
4- Which one do you use most?
5- Are they too close to justify both in your bag?

Ok, foreword. I've only thrown a Fire at a Test Drive. Didn't have the Forge, but wish they did.

For me, the Fire drilled 5*40 on a ths was a bit squirty. Cover read the friction well, but the layout made it touchy. I really would like one with the pin down. It's not a ball I'd go really left to right and expect a fast response, so I'd like it to blend. House shot is good to blend, but I think it would work well on medium sport shots where controlling the front to back is important.

I'd put both in the bag to just see a different shape. The original is more round off the friction.

Really strong core in the Forges, they tend to read pretty darn early, and if you drill them even moderately strong and pin up they flare an absolute ton.

The OG Forge for me is extremely strong, works best on high volumes with closed angles, if I could ever catch a deal on a new one i'd probably do a weaker layout on one and see if I could shape it down lane a little more.

The Fire lane shines fast, and for some it gets squirty when this happens. Strong core, so again, careful on layout, it flares a ton. I have a Fire drilled weaker than my OG Forge and it runs circles around it in boards crossed, and I can really open a lane up with it. I'm a rev dominant player, but the Fire is really continuous and really good for me on heavier volume house patterns.

I feel like lane shine on the Infusion cover causes the slight bit of over under, there the Ghost cover reads the lane better. Honestly, I'd go 5*65 on the original for fresh then 5*30 on the Fire for a good one two punch. That way it's still gonna give you a similar shape but more as you move in and open the lane up.

THIS is exactly what was pushing me away from the Fire. It feels like Solids can lane shine better & while the OG Forge may not be the better ball OOB it may settle in better long term? I want this piece to be the one I grab when the oil is long or carry down ruined hooking late for my Supra. Maybe the OG Forge wont work for house because its too early & strong & the Fire will be better even shined up?

For me the Fire has been great both OOB and with some lane shine. Actually I am able to play deeper with some shine on it. The Infusion cover has been working great for me when I need to open up the lane quite a bit before moving deeper with my Nemesis or my Supra depending on the volume.
