Title: Cobra at 500 with polish
Post by: ryguy119 on December 29, 2017, 11:55:55 AM
I was wondering if anybody has ever tried 500 with polish on their Venom Cobra. I had it at OOB and ball goes way too straight for me. I also have tried 3 k abralon and ball just didn't work for me. I have my Ghost and Shock at 2k abralon and my Tag Cannon at 5500 polish. I guess I am looking for a ball between my Shock and my Tag Cannon.  I was hoping the Venom Cobra would be that ball but so far no go. 500 might be a bit extreme but I figured I would go as low as possible to start . Easy to adjust surface up if 500 with polish is too much. Thanks

I have mine at 2000/polished & it is a monster for me on medium oiled lanes.

I had it at out of box 5500 polish and ball went dead straight. Actually hooked less then my Tag Cannon. Very surprised to say the least. That is why I tried removing the polish. It hooks more now but pretty similar to my Venom Shock. Thinking 500 might be too much.  you got me thinking of trying 2 k with polish.

I use mine at 3000K (no polish) and 2000k + polish and both hook plenty. It's not a "big movement" ball, more of a nice predictable ball path.

Went with 2000 polish and ball came to life. Used my Ghost 1st 2 games then switched to Cobra and shot 250 last game. 715 total. Ball gave me the perfect length and backend that I was looking for. I think 5500 polish was not enough surface and the 2000 abralon was too much.  Nice when a experiment works on. I guess thats why we buy a ball spinner. appreciate the help

Glad to see it work out for you; Good info to know, since I’m strongly considering purchasing one myself......
