Title: Forge Fire vs Blitz
Post by: toneoak1 on November 09, 2019, 01:23:28 PM
The only non-motiv ball I currently carry in my bag is a Storm Modern Marvel. I've won two local tourneys with that ball when I didn't have a look with anything else. One tourney was absolute soup and I did really well playing the gutter.  The other tourney had a wide open pocket, but I had carry issues and found amazing carry with it playing deep inside. Even after years with it, it bails me out time and time again. That's why I can't get rid of it. (My old faithful.) Hybrid cover @ 4000 grit OOB, RG 2.48, Diff of .52. So you can imagine my overwhelming excitement when I saw the specs on the Forge Fire. The ball I've been waiting for!!! That's when my attention was rudely interrupted by videos on the new Tank Blitz. JR Raymond, I hate you for this. ;)  Now I feel like a golden lab trying to decide between 2 chew toys but can't get both in my mouth. The ball that I currently carry that handles the most oil is a Venom Shock with some surface. I'm looking for a ball that would be a zone or so inside from that ball.  Any help is appreciated.

The Forge Fire will be a better replacement for that Modern Marvel than the Blitz, and from i've seen out of my Fire it's very useable as long as there is some volume, really digging it.

The Blitz is just different, super early, but continuous, not really comparable to anything else out there, unique piece.

For what you're looking for i'd suggest the Fire, but if you can swing it, both is a good option, just think you'd get more of your desired reaction and use-ability out of the Fire.

I'll report back in a few weeks when i've got my blitz and used it a good bit though.

Still waiting on a Forge vs Blitz comparison as they're only one zone apart as opposite to everyone comparing the Covert which is two zones.

Will have some video in the next week of the Fire and Blitz on the same patterns. When there's a good bit of volume and you have to square up, both the Fire and Blitz are close in strength, the big different is because the Blitz just starts up so early I can chase the pattern in with the Fire, where the Blitz is so early it's hard to get good entry angle.

I can't overstate just how early the Blitz starts up, when swinging the ball, I kept thinking I was missing target with the Blitz because I couldn't get it out to the breakpoint area I was looking at, had to verify with some friends that have been around when I was practicing.
