Ghost Jackal
« on: December 11, 2016, 06:05:28 PM »
Any info on this bowling ball. EJ Tackett had this ball on the show of the Pba World Championship final today. He did not use it, but it was in his arsenal.

I just checked the USBC approved ball list and neither the Ghost Jackal or the Track Mako are on the list. So how can we find out more about these balls now?  Staffers?

We don't really until Motiv and Track announce or (more likely) stuff leaks and it gets posted on here. A picture of the Jackal Ghost was already posted in another thread and it almost certainly uses the Predator V2 core so there's a decent starting point for that.

Correct me if I am wrong, but weren't the WSOB events suppose to use approved balls?  Even if a manufacturer was going to release a ball at a further date, weren't they suppose to get it approved first?  How can the bowlers use a non-approved ball?

Plus, aren't all the balls used suppose to be available to any bowler who competes in the WSOB?  There was a rule change a few years ago that was suppose to prevent staffers from having sole access to equipment supplied by their manufacturer.  If this is the case, then any WSOB bowler could get their hands on new equipment before its release date.

We thinking this is the Primal Rage Remix replacement or Jackal LE replacement?

Definitely a replacement for the LE. Like tkkshop said it's the strongest Motiv ball yet and in another thread that ball was never really a release. Perhaps more importantly a ball that wasn't advertised or featured in pro shops (online or anywhere else). People can get a LE, but they're not exactly at the forefront of sales.

While the Moderate MH spot is still vacant, it still makes me wonder what is replacing the Primal Rage Remix as, online it looks like they are hitting clearance.

Heck, we still need a Revolt Vengeance replacement.
Balls: Motiv Trident Abyss, Motiv Golden Jackal, Motiv Hydra and Motiv Hyper Sniper. All made in the USA.

If the Ghost Jackal is not yet approved and is not listed on the approved list by USBC; yet it was used or on the list to be used in the World Championship, then does that make the original Jackal and Jackal Carnage which is not approved by the USBC eligible to have been used?
I thought like spmcgivern's post that a ball has to be approved by USBC to be used.
Anybody know the correct answer?

ghost jackal is not on the pba approved list

here is the mako from the pba site

Mako
Ball
Not Clear until 1/16
1/16/2017

typical scam bs from the pba and ball companies allowing non usbc approved/ non pba approved balls being used.

Pba allows upcoming releases to be used at prerecorded events like the WSOB.  They are only allowed for use during that event. They become usable in their events at their release date. I remember a pro (Tod Book)  leading the regional following the WSOB  a couple years ago. He realised the Sigma Sting he threw all week in the WSOB was not approved for that event, but only the WSOB. He turned himself in and was disqualified as a result.
