Good fit between the Cruel and The Recon Pearl
« on: January 20, 2011, 02:09:34 PM »
I'm going to be switching to Motiv because I like what I have seen and thrown.  I want to buy the Cruel and the silver Recon for sure, and I am trying to decide on a third ball.  I want to go with one that fits between the other two, I have been considering either the SR2 or the QZ2 but I would like some input for you guys.  Thanks

I'd say the SR2.  Use it to start and it will tell you when it is time to use the C51 or Recon, as the SR2 is a fantastic benchmark ball.  The QZ2 is a great choice as well, but doesn't quite have that magical read of the SR2.

Thanks for the input guys, my biggest question is I bowl in two different houses.  The first house uses lane shield which is now brand new and plays very slick, which is why the Cruel is a pretty obvious choice.  The other house however is a problem, we bowl Tuesday nights and he oils for the Special Olympics league before us in the afternoon and then lets open bowlers bowl on the pairs we use.  It is only a 16 lane house so every week they play different because with the special olympics god love em, but they throw all over the place and combined with open bowlers there is a lot of carry down combined with burnt up front ends.  I was deciding between the SR2 and the QZ2 on which I thought would play better on these conditions because I am a high rev player and have trouble with the more aggressive stuff I use now.  So my question would be go with the SR2 like you say or get the QZ2, or is there an even better option I have not looked into?  Thanks again

the gt-1 is kinda inbetween the sr2 and qz2 if im not mistaken. i have the tr2 and recon, and decided on the gt-1 for my benchmark.i got to test both the sr2 and gt-1.the sr2 was drilled a hair stronger but was flipier and snapped off the spot harder.while the gt-1 was for me better it was about 3-5 boards weaker but with a nice smooth arc and nice little pop off the spot. having never thrown the qz2 or any qz line ball cant help ya there.

hope that helps and next week when i get my gt-1 ill look back here and give ya more input,if you havent made a choice by then....good luck and stay motivated!!!

Well I decided to go with the QZ2, the price was a little better and I think it will get through the fried heads that I bowl at in the 2nd house.  Thanks for the input and I will post back what I think about the decision.
