Hydra, Rogue Blade and Trident Abyss Videos
« on: October 12, 2018, 02:09:49 PM »
Hi all,
For an another season, Thebowlingsource (Lasourcedesquilles) in Canada give me the opportunity for making their video about Motiv bowling balls.

So see the video by these links :
Hydra : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxPn9pWb_ZU
Rogue Blade : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YvqGaEv1Ic
Trident Abyss : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBzKrwo7BSk
The videos are bilinguals (French/English) to reach as many people as possible (We are from Quebec, Canada).

My opinion on these balls

Hydra : This ball isn't at the right place in the guide of Motiv for me. I remember the moment when Motiv move the Tribal fire on the chart because this ball was more aggressive than expected. For me, the Hydra have the same problem. Halogen core is so strong for this type of balls. You see in the video that I am deeper on the lane than with the Venom shock Pearl. Don't have the choice to play deep inside with the Hydra who have a skip/flip reaction. I try to play with this ball on the typical house shot of my bowling center... I can't! So much backend, give me so much the 8 pin (I'm left-handed) because the ball charge so fast at backend. So my decision with this ball and also my advice is to down the surface with a 3000 or 4000 grit pad, to clear the shine and the ball will begin a little earlier to react on the lanes and give more stability.

Rogue Blade : I was very excited when I saw Motiv to release an another ball with the Sigma core. I loved last year the Forza SS for his mid-lane reaction and his stable hook potential on all types of conditions. I played a lot of tournaments with the Forza SS on differents patterns of oil. But the Rogue Blade don't play in the same reaction because Rogue Blade is in the moderate/angular side of the Motiv Guide. This ball has a sanded finish at 4000 grit. This ball is a benchmark for me. I will take this ball first to begin on a pattern that I don't know. Give much versatility on differents conditions. At this moment, I play mostly my league with this ball. All players can take this ball and find a stable way to strike on THS.

Trident Abyss : A ball stronger than the Jackal Rising and the Jackal Ghost? If we look at number for the RG, diff and int. Diff, we see that the Jackal Rising have a lower RG and higher Differential, thus stronger for the core (Predator core vs Turbulent core). Thus if we want a ball stronger than the jackal rising, you need a better coverstock. I think Motiv did a good job on the coverstock to be stronger than all the other balls on the current ball guide. This ball has a strong and smooth roll on the lane and I was very surprised to be able to play with this ball in my leagues. My bowling center have a pattern where you need to stay really deep inside if you need some oils. This ball give a great margin to these conditions. I don't have times to play on big patterns yet with it but surely be the ball to go first for this.

Thanks to reading me on this post and I will post something similar for the next release of Motiv Bowling. Sorry for the sentence mistakes, English is not my primary language.
Have a nice day
