On the way
-
Yup, hope it's better than the Nemesis (IMO as much as i'm a huge Motiv fan, they really haven't figured out the high end pearl asymmetric thing yet)
Specs are:
Infusion HV Pearl Reactive Cover
Predator V2 Core
5000 Grit LSP finish
Orange/Silver/Blue Color* First tri-color ball from Motiv
Black/Silver Logo
-
So what was the ball that EJ used besides the Shock against Simonsen recently? It was red/blue and I couldn't get a clear picture of the logo

The VIP. And it was on the approved ball list. Then taken down

Said VIP.
I personally wanted this ball. Infusion with the V2 core. There was something about the v3 core that didn't look nearly as good as the V2. Hope it's stateside.

The VIP is an EJ signature ball to be announced soon. Not sure if was just layouts or what but it looked like it rolled a lot more forward than his Venom Shock on TV and weaker. Shape looked a lot like the Sigma core, so we'll see.
And I agree on the Predator V2 being better than V3 in shape, but I just am not sold on the Nemesis cover that is on the new Jackal, the Nemesis for me and the three others we drilled them for is not much of at all stronger than the Supra.
-
Hopefully they tweak the formula to not be as squirty.

OOOF, Belmo took the timeless out first time and won with it... not a good start to EJs signature line if thats the case
by the way, i think signature lines for pro bowlers are goofy... maybe i'm just correlating it to pro athletes and signature shoes... but yeah, imagining somebody walking into a bowling alley in their jordans or lebrons, and then throwing a belmo or EJ ball.... something seems off

Meanwhile, the Timeless was an ABSOLUTE dud. ::)

Question: how did you lay them out? Also, surface tweaks at all? Seems like the first run was really squirty and needed the polish knocked off.

and the drive. the pro motion has popularity but probably not as much as a high priced point ball should. and i can see the trend being similar...
its funny, his name is on it, yet he hardly throws them... maybe we'll see him with the trend and pro motion more when he comes back to bowling PBA... but still, its hard seeing a signature ball not being thrown...
reminds of the story where Jordan had on his latest model jordan, wore them from a quarter, then switched to an older pair because the new model was uncomfortable to him

I hope it's the qz1/thrash/octane core...
He liked the octane

Surface adjustments have been made on them for sure, and they helped a bit, but the cover just isn't strong enough IMO for what it was intended to be.
Layout wise gets a bit down the rabbit hole, but for mine specifically I used the same layout as I have on my Golden Jackal, Jackal Ghost and Trident Quest (RIP Quest), and the other balls all have done as expected. Can't win them all, and definitely not trying to root against the Flash, but definitely saying I won't be the first in my area to buy one.

Didn't look like an Octane shape to me

From what I've seen, smaller val angles made the ball very sensitive. If you watch Jeff Piroodshads Nemesis review, his pin down rolled light years better than the pin up
-
I watched Jeff piroozshad's video. Before I drilled my Nemesis. When pin down and took the shine off. 3000 grit and the ball is good! Now my buddy went pin up and factory finish . And he loves the ball! So as far as the new jackal flash I'll have to add this one to my collection! Can't go wrong with a jackal..

I like the color choice.

Jackal Flash
COLOR: Orange/Silver/Blue Pearl
COVERSTOCK: Infusionâ„¢ HV Pearl
CORE: Predatorâ„¢ V2
FINISH: 5000 Grit LSP
LANE CONDITION: Heavy Oil
REACTION: Length w/ Strong Backend
WEIGHTS: 14-16 lbs.
-
That 5000 LSP may be wrong. Bowlerx had the Nemesis listed as 5000 LSP until I emailed them for clarification and they said it was a mistake and changed it to 5500 LSP.
Nope. Motiv has the ball up now and it's listed as 5000 LSP so maybe it's more of a Ripcord-type finish.
-
I never expect the box surface on a Motiv ball to actually be what they claim. Motiv has the worst consistency in the industry when it comes to the box surface. At least in my experience with their equipment.

I'm one of the biggest fans of the company you'll find and we move a lot of Motiv stuff in my local area and I 100% agree with this.

Saw a sneak peek of the Flash (not Bret's video lol), and it's everything I hoped it would be. I think the stronger core really brings out the fun you can have with that cover.
