Jackal Rising partially leaked on Facebook with the Predator V3. Also a new Tank. Post has since been removed.
-
Another new Tank? That would be odd. I might be placing my bets on that and maybe the Jackal Rising being overseas releases.
-
Sanded pearl to replace the original jackal?
-
Leaked photos were taken in a pro shop of the two boxes. Don't know anymore details than that.

No I was reading comments on it and next thing I knew they were removed. Trenton Chrisman kinda pressured the kid to take the photos down from what I was seeing in comments.

Hmmmm... Funny thing is that he is not even a staffer. Oh well, they will come out eventually.

Most companies require NDAs before anyone handles a product not released. If that is the case loss of a business probably strong motivation to take it down.
-
Any more info??
-
Jackal Rising has me interested. Would love to know more.
-
Well they are confirmed, Combat Tank and Jackal Rising, Brett is teasing them as the pros are drilling them up at the WSOB of bowling.

Asym core on the Tank?
-
I would bet on the Combat Tank being a stronger(ish) pearl urethane as the successor to the Rebel Tank, but who knows. Motiv surprises often with their decisions.
-
Jackal Rising on my wish list. Any more info?
-
Per the Motiv live videos
The Jackal Rising will be earlier and a little stronger than the Ghost.
The Combat Tank will be longer and weaker than the Tank Rampage

So stronger cover on the rising and weaker cover on the combat?
Sounds like what happened with the original Jackal and the Carnage, and the Tank and Rebel Tank.

It's possible to be earlier and stronger than the Ghost?

My Jackal LE hits harder and carries way more off pocket hits than my Jackal Ghost. I bought my Jackal Ghost in August, but 2 weeks ago I had to go back to the Jackal LE.
My Jackal Ghost was leaving way too many 7 pins or 10 pins. Those corner pins were killing me.

If the surface prep in your description for the two balls was the same at the time, I definitely could see why. Ever polish your Ghost?

Anything is possible with new ball marketing.

2000 LSS? Must be a new factory finish for Motiv. 360, 500 then 1000? Interesting.

I think they'd rather you "hype the belief".

well, that would make a ball earlier and smoother. I'm passing on this one. My ghost has 20 games on it and I have the ball since it released.

That can't be the process to get to 2000 LSS. 360, 500, 1000...

It could be. Motiv's LSS 3000 on the Ghost is 500/1000/2000 on a spinner. http://www.motivbowling.com/resources/factory-finish-guide.html

I feel like saying only using grits below the stated finish surface defies science, unless they use pads so worn they aren't the true grit anymore.

Not really. You have two surfaces at different grit levels working against each other. Why should one always win out over the other? Pads are known to wear down fairly quickly. Therefore, it would be foolish to think that a bowling ball would magically get to the grit level of a pad.
In fact, studies have shown that using a spinner results in a higher grit than the pad being used. You only achieve a true grit level on the bowling ball's surface by doing it by hand, and even then, not overdoing it.
Generally speaking, unless one surface maintains its grit level for a long period of time, the two surfaces are going to work against each other and blend out.

Well officially up on Motiv's site now. They tweaked the core a little bit in the Jackal Rising as the diff and int. diff increased slightly
-
The Combat Tank is interesting, a hybrid-urethane.
-
Why is the Combat a limited edition?

Interesting that they're using the Recon core in the Tank Rising, same that was in the Ascent series and is in the Freestyle series. With the Tank Rampage using the Gear V2 there should be a noticeable difference in the Tank Rising. The Rebel Tank used the Halogen core, which is closer to the Recon core, but stronger.
The Jackal Rising looks nice. That's all I got.

Due to high demand and a few upgrades to the facility over the holidays, Motiv is pushing the release of the Rising back a week. 1/10/2018
Combat is still expected to release 1/3/2018
-
Good question, I don’t understand that it is limited either.
