VENOM COBRA INPUT PLEASE
« on: December 19, 2017, 10:30:09 AM »
I'm giving some thought to trying a Motiv Ball.  My benchmark is the original Storm Hy Road, drilled pin under.  Ball speed is 14.5 - rev dominant, and prefer polish.  Where would the Venom Cobra fit in relation to the Hy Road

My assumption would be a lot of overlap between the two, with the Cobra being a bit cleaner and flippier.

It's been a while since I used a Hy-Road, but the Venom Cobra is the most versatile ball I own currently. The Hy-Road would be a bit stronger overall, but with drilling differences there is probably a place for both.

A pin up Venom Cobra would compliment your Pin down Hyroad perfectly (surface change as well).

My stats. are in profile slightly rev dominant slightly slower than OP.  13.8 to 14 mph at backend Qubica.  My 1-2 punch from Motiv is 2.75" pin to PAP 50* VAL Venom Shock-solid 2000 to 4000 bench mark.  Venom Cobra-hybrid pin under 4.25" pin to PAP 65* VAL 5000 polished next ball inside after Shock.  These 2 balls have the same ball motion and I can go from Shock to Cobra moving deeper and keep striking.   Or if during/after transition and they get stiffer I can move out with Cobra.  Very versatile rolly arc ball motion that is easy to read.
