There's another post about this.  From what I can tell they are awaiting a USBC decision before releasing information..

The USBC already made its decision and the lack of any new news coming from the USBC means they have nothing else to say on the matter. If the USBC was truly contemplating reinstating both bowling balls, we would have some knowledge of such from the USBC. Either that or this is the best kept secret at the USBC ever.

Seems like Motiv is waiting for their customers to buy the new Trident before sending out the LE replacement balls.

But I could be wrong. Someone said it has always been September as the time frame of when to expect them, but none of the emails I have received mentioned a specific time frame. and the emails I've received confirm that.

Corrected!

The LE has been slated for a "fall" release the whole time. Fall is broad in terms of time. September to November is practically fall. So I would expect it somewhere in there.

Actually, I was mistaken. I just went back to my emails from Motiv and they do state that the LE is expected to ship in September. My Bad.

"If you elected to receive the new Limited Edition release, those balls are expected to ship in September.  If you elected to receive a current release, your ball will be shipped approximately 3 weeks after you receive the official verification email.  When your ball does ship to the pro shop you specified, you will receive a shipping confirmation message from MOTIV."

I have no knowledge of what specs this ball will have, but expect a core and cover similar to the newest Jackal.  Possibly just tweeking the same core so it passes.  I am thinking, since this is an extra ball they weren't planning on, they will want to use what they have rather than creating something totally new.  Just some speculation until we hear more details....

Nationals is now concluded
Jr Gold is now concluded

I wouldn't be surprised if some news was forthcoming soon. It is logical to wait until these events have passed to avoid further confusion. There may be meetings scheduled where the Jackal is the topic of discussion.

There are very few people that know anything about specifics of the LE.

If Motiv was smart, they would just give is Tridents instead of going through the hassle of designing, getting approval from USBC, setting up additional manufacturing and doing special shipping just for a Limited Edition bowling ball.

The positive comments we would put out there for the Trident (if it's as good as the reviews say it is) could really help sales.

Don't feed the clueless Justin. He complains on every thread about a ball not made in the US and got so fed up with AMF just because they didn't release enough balls in his eyes

Being on the customer end of this, it kinda feels like being a Volkswagon Diesel owner.  :o

Except of course, those Volkswagon Diesel owners can still drive their car...

I have opinions. It doesn't matter if you agree with them. The point of forums is to share them. Intelligent people would respect those opinions, and if they didn't agree, they would explain why with an intelligent reply. However, your childish reply just shows your lower intelligence. I also just lost a lot of respect for you. Not that you will care. Children never do.

You bashed Motiv and said that your idea is what they should be doing. Justin invited you to send in your resume since you think you know what's best. Do you really think Motiv hasn't considered all their options?

You bashed AMF repeatedly, you complain about any ball not made in the USA, and now you've bashed Motiv and Justin who is a great representative of his company.

You're just a whiner who isn't happy unless you get what you want. Just like a little kid

My suggestion wasn't an affront, merely a recommendation. Although your panache for the critical might not translate well outside of forums.

Just got this e-mail late last night:

"The USBC has affirmed its previous decision and announced that neither the Jackal nor the Jackal Carnage will be reinstated.  While MOTIV® is considering its options related to the recent decision, we are moving forward with the MOTIV® Ball Exchange Program to take care of our customers.

We are also pleased to announce that the USBC has just recently approved the Jackal LE (Limited Edition), which will now be produced and distributed in accordance with the MOTIV® Ball Exchange Program.  The new Jackal LE is a strong heavy oil ball that features the new Predator V2 core and Coercion HVS cover stock, which is tuned with a 3000 Grit LSS finish.  The 15# model has an RG of 2.47, a differential of .054, and intermediate differential of .015.

No further action is required by you at this point since we have already verified your submission to receive the Jackal LE. This message is being sent to you to confirm that the ball will be produced and shipped to pro shops as soon as possible.  It is expected that Jackal LE balls will be shipped to pro shops before the end of September.  When your ball is shipped, you will be notified by email.  In the meantime, please hold onto your Jackal and/or Jackal Carnage.  Do not discard, damage, or destroy the ball. You will need to turn it into your pro shop later to exchange it for your new Jackal LE.

We sincerely appreciate your patience and support during this process, and we wish you great success with your new Jackal LE this bowling season."

The picture they posted looked like the covert revolt color scheme fyi. My guess is the ball somewhat colored like this trident.
