Title: Lots of changes to the Motiv ball guide
Post by: Impending Doom on January 09, 2020, 12:30:14 PM
Missing is the Villain, Rogue Blade, and Venom Shock Pearl. That's a lot of stuff. Do they usually do that before the next release? I know they usually announce the next ball when the new one is released.

Balls release every 45 days typically, and the info usually leaks right around 45 days before the release date. They clean the ball chart up as they discontinue, and that always seems random as they base it off sales volumes mainly, which is why the Venom Shock is still in production.

Well, the Blade seems to have been overshadowed by the Assassin, I don't know if the VSP was just not selling, and the Villain might not be the motion they're looking for anymore. Maybe they're gonna use the new Supra cover formulation to create a different look?

Me getting dropped may have been the best timing ever. :)

I would take that cover on the VSP core. Or even the Hybrid version of it that is on the Forge Fire.

The Forge Fire is making me rethink what is actually my all time favorite Motiv ball. History wise it has went from GT1, Sigma Sting, Venom Shock to Venom Cobra. But the Fire is now my go to ball.

I wasn't impressed with the OG Forge when I saw video, but the Fire looks like it's clean enough and fast enough to keep moving left with it and not run into a cliff

This is exactly what I have found. The OG Forge is a beast, especially on heavy/long flat patterns, but unless you have serious hand, it's not a get deep ball. The Fire is a different story, I use it in two different five person scratch leagues for all three games as it allows me to make continuous moves deeper, getting away from the burn area while still taking out the 10.

It's not as clean and as fast as the Supra, but it would at least smooth out the over under on the house shot. A pearl ball that kinda blends the pattern. That's a dream come true. I could see the OG if I wanted more of a hook set on a fresh sport shot, but not to boom it.

I'm a little surprised they didn't ax the Hydra. It doesn't get a lot of hype. There's still a hole in the ball guide next to it though so I'm hoping there's a light oil piece coming there

The Fire to me is what I expected from the Golden Jackal.  I too would love to see the Fire’s cover on a VSP core, I haven’t been a fan of the non SE Hexion balls.
