Title: Motiv Ascent Pearl and Video
Post by: alangrobmeier on May 27, 2012, 06:01:27 PM
The Ascent Pearl and the Ascent Solid is MOTIV’s first true entry level balls.

The Ascents DO NOT hit like entry level balls!  Bowlers of all levels will find it beneficial to have an Ascent in their bag.

The Ascent Pearl gets down the lane with ease, with plenty of angularity on the backend of the lane.  My Ascent Pearl was drilled VERY weak, 50 x 2 x 50, with a P4 weight hole.  Despite how weak this ball was drilled, it really snaps when it sees friction.

You can see my video here:

I would recommend either Ascent to anyone who is looking to purchase a quality ball at a VERY affordable price.  A bowler could do very well to have both the Ascent Solid and Ascent Pearl for use on most house conditions.  It would be a GREAT 1-2 ‘punch’, using the solid on fresh conditions and the pearl later in the day.

Maybe I missed it.

But what kind of shot was this on?

Comparison to other motiv balls?

House shot.  The pearl is similar to the QZ2, but much more angular off the breakpoint.  I have a QZ2 with the same 'weak' layout as I use them on Cheetah/Viper patterns.  A house shot is a little more oil than the layouts were designed.

Hope that helps.

Yeah. House I bowl in right now is really dry so looking for a all to use on it.

I have a Recon thats a little to strong for the shot and I have been using a Storm Natural. Looking for something a bit stronger than the natural.

Wonder if the ascent pearl with the correct drilling will fit that bill.
