First of all, I know that they are 2 completely different balls. But here is my situation:
I have the following arsenal: Jackal, Aura Paranormal, Covert Revolt, Sigma Sting, Venom Shock and Venom Panic. I am about to trade an old ball of mine and I can choose between a used Forza or a used Ascent Apex. The thing is, I don't want any overlap in my arsenal, and since I have the Covert Revolt, I'm thinking that maybe the Revolt and the Forza are too close to each other, correct? But the other thing is that I am a left handed bowler and usually I don't see enough break down on the lanes to justify a ball like the Apex, I mean, 1 out of 10 games I see a lane break down for me, but other than that, if I start with the Jackal or the Revolt, I can bowl down to the Sting or the Shock and that's more than enough most of the time. So, if you were me, what bowling ball would you choose and why? Forza or Apex? I am tempted to try the Forza since a lot of people says that it is a great ball.
Thanks in advance!

Our houses down here have an oil embargo...so for league, Medium is my "heavy" ball.
The three I am looking at in order of need would be...
Apex Ascent
Venom Panic
Covert Vengeance
Would like a Forza at some point, but other are in more of a need.

I hear you, in here usually one of my centers is medium tending to heavy and the other one is medium, but since I am a lefty I can bowl almost the entire night without adjusting and maybe changing balls by the third game, so I don't know what ball to get! Decisions, decisions...

Vengeance would be a tourney only ball for me here...

Luvswatch....sounds like the house I bowl out of. My Primal Rage lately is just too much ball for the conditions. In response to the OP....the only balls I can speak to are the Sting and Apex. I will say my Apex goes much longer than the Sting. A good 4 boards right for me. Sometimes I almost wish I would have gone pin down on that one. But definitely a decent step down from the Sting, so no overlap there. I don't have any of the Venoms, so I can't compare there. However I was all set to grab a Panic when it came out, but from the few that I have seen thrown, it looks like it might be pretty close to me Apex. If you do go with the Apex, maybe drill it on the weaker side. Mine is drilled fairly aggressive.

I've got all the balls you mentioned except for the Aura.
So the way I see it is, you don't really "need" either one of them...so it comes down to which one you want more. Assuming you want them both an equal amount, ask yourself which you'd get the most use out of.
If it were me, I'd go with the Forza. I have 2 coverts and a Forza. One of the Coverts and the Forza are drilled identically to each other. They are not the same. They're similar in the amount of boards they cover, but not close in shape at all. The Forza is much much smoother. Different ball completely. That, plus the ability to change the surface and I don't think you'll have an issue with overlap at all.
Good luck!

Forgot to mention, all those people you're hearing that the Forza is great from...they're right. It is a great ball. Very unique reaction.

I just got the Panic but haven't drilled yet, so I'm thinking of using it as a step down from the Sting, I think I made my decision, thank you for your help!

Exactly. You are completely right. I don't need either, but talking about which one I want, definitely the Forza! From what I've seen it looks impressive, and I can drill it the same way as the Revolt and the Shock and just play with the surface, and still will get a different shape, correct? I'll go with the Forza, I was forcing myself to go for the Apex because I don't have anything for "dry" conditions but what the hell, Forza it is. Thanks Matt!

My thoughts exactly. And no problem at all. Actually, I have my shock, one revolt, and Forza all drilled the same. I get very different looks with each of them with the Shock at 4000, revolt and Forza both at 2000. You won't be disappointed.
Best I luck to ya and let us know what ya think of the Forza!

I have the Shock at 3000 and the Revolt at 2000. I think I'll put 2000 to the Forza as well. Yes, as soon as I receive it I'll let you know, so excited to roll it! And thanks again!

Since you got the Panic I am curious on your thoughts on that ball? I have since also picked up a Panic. I had also made a surface change to the Apex down to 2000 and then a worn 4000 pad. I really like the way that rolls now. Jury still out on the Panic. At the house I bowl, it is much earlier than I expected, with the pin up layout I put on it.
-
I think you are making a good call with the Forza, I'm also a lefty and well, the most I have had to ball down is to my Sigma Sting, and that is rarely, what layout are you gonna get on the forza? Im leaning also to get a Forza but not so sure about it

I don't have the Panic anymore, I traded my undrilled Panic for a new Forza. However, I tried one on a Motiv test drive and I liked! It was OOB and it was clean, with a nice backend motion, it has a quick response to friction but I thought that I wouldn't use it that much, so I went with the Forza. The Apex at 2000 is money for me playing close to the gutter on game 3, it is smooth, super clean and smooth but with an angular motion without overreacting. It is a great ball!

It was the best decision I've ever made! The forza right now is my favorite ball! I can easily take a two ball tote with just my Forza and my Arctic Sniper any league day! It is an amazing ball, so forgiving, so smooth and yet so strong, I went with 45x3.5x35 with the Forza, I used it OOB for a while but now at 3K is probably the best ball I've ever used, it is amazing! You can't go wrong with a Forza!

How different is your reaction with that layout and cover change from a sting oob finish?

It is like black and white! The Forza starts earlier than the Sting, more smooth, more controllable and for me is stronger than the Sting. The sting is clean through the heads, and then makes a smooth but yet angular reaction down lane. Sting has more length than the Forza and it is more angular than the Forza. By the way I sold my Sting 3 weeks ago, not the right ball for me.
